Germany looked to be starting their new era under Klopp with victory in Amsterdam on Thursday night, only for the Netherlands to snatch a 92nd-minute equaliser (1-1). Die Nationalelf endured a difficult couple of years under predecessor Julian Nagelsmann which culminated in a disappointing World Cup exit at the hands of Paraguay in the last 32, but Klopp has inherited a side who topped their UNL group in 2024/25 and made it into the competition’s finals. That was a first victory in six games (D3, L2), and sees Greece top the group ahead of matchday two, but as that was their only win on foreign soil since March 2025, they’re unlikely to be taking anything for granted here.
