In a shocking offseason move, the Carolina Panthers signed basketball player Colin Granger on Monday as a project tight end.

The 6-foot-9, 225-pound Division I basketball player will now be putting on pads for the very first time in his athletic career after being draft-eligible during last year's NFL Draft.

Granger played basketball at Ohio University, Western Carolina University, and Coastal Carolina University.

He posted his reaction on Instagram (warning: language).

Panthers general manager Dan Morgan is no rookie to eccentric moves like this.

In 2016, he signed basketball player George Fant to the Seahawks as a tackle, where he played for three years before going to the New York Jets for the same amount of time.

Fant then signed with the Houston Texans in 2023 before going back to the Seahawks this past season.

Even better, Fant worked out with Granger.
