During the celebrations of Sunday night's Super Bowl win, Klint Kubiak confirmed to reporters that it was his last game as the Seattle Seahawks' offensive coordinator.

On Monday, Kubiak touched down in Las Vegas, as the Raiders posted on social media that the soon-to-be 39-year-old is now their new head coach. It will be his first time in this position.

"We're going to enjoy tonight. You guys know I'm going to Las Vegas, and I'm fired up about it," Kubiak said on Sunday when spoken to after the Seahawks' 29-13 win over the New England Patriots in Santa Clara. "Hell yeah, I'm going."

Kubiak played a key role in the success of Seattle's quarterback Sam Darnold's connection with wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba. The NFC's number one seeded team made history in this year's postseason by becoming the first side to win the Super Bowl while failing to give up a turnover.

"He's a great coach," Darnold said of Kubiak. "He's a grinder. He's always working, always ‌looking for an edge."

Reports indicate that Kubiak could try to take some of the Seahawks coaching staff with him to Vegas. Offensive line coach John Benton is one name that is circulating. Benton pointed out that he is at home in Seattle, but no word has been made on that.

Kubiak has been in the league since 2013, starting with the Minnesota Vikings as an offensive quality control coach. Following a year with the Kansas Jayhawks in college football, he returned in 2016 as the Denver Broncos' offensive assistant. He has since had two more roles with the Vikings, a return to the Broncos, as well as a stint with the San Francisco 49ers

This was Kubiak's second year as an offensive coordinator, after having the same role with the New Orleans Saints.

He has signed a five-year deal to become the Raiders' head coach, returning to the AFC West four years on from his time in Denver. His father, Gary Kubiak, led the Broncos to their latest Super Bowl back in 2015.
