The NFL announced on Tuesday that Ron Torbert (61) will be the head referee for Super Bowl LIX (59) on February 9, 2025.

Torbert has a great track record with the remaining teams. Since 2017, the Buffalo Bills are 5-2 with Torbert as the ref while the Kansas City Chiefs are 4-1, with one of those wins coming against the Bills in 2020.

As for the NFC side, the Washington Commanders are 5-7 since 2017 with Torbert as ref, but 2-0 this season, including the recent Divisional Round win against the Detroit Lions. Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles have a 7-5 record with Torbert since 2017 and are also 2-0 this year.

Torbert is heading back to the Super Bowl just a few years removed from working the one between the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals in 2022. It will also mark side judge Boris Cheek's fourth Super Bowl appearance. Cheek currently holds the record for most games officiated with 461.

Meanwhile, umpire Mike Morton, down judge Max Causey, field judge Mearl Robinson, back judge Jonah Monroe, and replay official Kevin Brown will all be making their Super Bowl debuts as refs.
