The Pittsburgh Steelers signed safety DeShon Elliott (28) to a two-year extension worth $12.5 million with $9.21 million guaranteed, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero.

Elliott is coming off of what some could argue is his best season yet - posting a career-high 108 total tackles, six pass deflections, three fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles, and one interception.

The six-year veteran originally signed a two-year deal worth $6 million with Pittsburgh prior to the 2024 season.

Elliott was originally selected 190th overall (sixth round) in the 2018 NFL Draft by the Steelers' dreaded rival Baltimore Ravens, where he spent the first three years of his career.

Usually used as a box safety, Elliott's 87.8 run defense grade was the sixth-best in the league last season among 171 qualified safeties - posting a 70.2 overall grade (46th).

His career totals include 395 tackles, 23 pass deflections, 16 tackles for loss, 13 quarterback hits, five forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries, four interceptions, and three-and-a-half sacks.
