She was scheduled to play the WTA 500 tournament in Linz, Austria, next week, but it was announced on Friday evening that she has withdrawn from the tournament.
Back inflammation has forced Tauson to take a break from her busy schedule. These are the same back problems that previously caused her significant pain at the tournaments in Indian Wells and the Miami Open.
Clara Tauson is also disappointed not to be able to take part in the tournament in Linz, where she reached the semi-final last year.
"Unfortunately, I cannot play the wonderful tournament in Linz. I have many good memories from the tournament and will definitely return in the future", she tells the tournament website.
It is unknown how long Tauson will be sidelined, but currently, she is still registered for the tournament in Stuttgart in a few weeks.
After Stuttgart, big tournaments await in Madrid and Rome, before the Grand Slam tournament, Roland Garros in Paris, which begins at the end of May.
