The teams for the Major League Baseball (MLB) All-Star game have been revealed by the league, with the 18 players coming from 13 different teams.

The starters for the National League will be spearheaded by Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani. The Japanese international phenom is just the third player in MLB history to have 30+ home runs and 80+ runs scored before the All-Star break.

Starting in the outfield for the National League will be Ronald Acuna Jr. (Atlanta Braves), Pete Crow-Armstrong (Chicago Cubs), and Kyle Tucker (Chicago Cubs). The Cubs pair are partaking in their very first All-Star games after head-turning first halves to the season up to this point.

Along the bases are 1B Freddie Freeman (Los Angeles Dodgers), 2B Ketel Marte (Arizona Diamondbacks), and 3B Manny Machado (San Diego Padres), while the shortstop is Francisco Lindor (New York Mets). Completing the lineup for the NL is catcher Will Smith (Los Angeles Dodgers).

In total, six different teams are represented across the NL starting lineup, with the Dodgers (3) and Cubs (2) ending up with multiple spots. The group will be managed by Dodgers skipper Dave Roberts.

American League

As for the American League, outfielder Aaron Judge heads the team when it comes to votes. The New York Yankee star led all players with over four million votes. The 33-year-old will partake in his seventh All-Star game and fifth in a row.

The other two outfielders for the AL are Riley Greene and Javier Baez, both from the Detroit Tigers. Remarkably, Baez was on the cusp of being released by the Tigers last season due to a career-worst performance, but managed to stay on the team. A year later, he is at his third All-Star game.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (Toronto Blue Jays) will start at first base, while Gleyber Torres (Detroit Tigers) will play at second, Jose Ramirez (Cleveland Guardians) at third, and Jacob Wilson (Athletics) at shortstop after beating out the Kansas City Royals' star Bobby Witt Jr.

Breakout start Cal Raleigh (Seattle Mariners) will be the catcher, with the designated hitter being Ryan O'Hearn (Baltimore Orioles).

Four players on the AL team will be making their maiden appearance in an MLB All-Star game: Raleigh, Wilson, O'Hearn, and Greene. The nine starting players are representing seven different teams, with the Tigers being the only club with multiple selections (3). Stepping in as the manager will be the Yankees' Aaron Boone.

The 95th MLB All-Star game will take place on July 15th at Truist Park in Cumberland, Georgia.
