The sixth week (May 5th to May 11th) is in the books and, like always, there were plenty of highlights from all around the league!

Things this week ended on the right note with Mother's Day, as all of the players' moms were out in full force as were the pink apparel to represent the holiday.

Royals star player Salvador Perez even had his mom throw out the first pitch to celebrate the occasion.

Now, let's get into this week's highlights! Each section will be sorted in the following order: History, Pitching, Walk-Offs, Home Runs, Fielding.

History

Despite making his Major League debut back in 2022, it took until this year for centerfielder Brewer Hickland to record his first-ever big-league hit. Hickland went on to go 2-3 at the plate with two runs and a walk.

Pitching

While there may not be many pitching highlights this week, St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Erick Fedde not only threw a shutout, but it's his first complete game as well - posting nine strikeouts and six hits with not a single walked batter!

Walk-Offs

Another week, another Miami Marlins walk-off! This time around, it came against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the bottom of the 10th inning. It is the team's first and only win against the Dodgers so far this season.

We've seen walk-off home runs. We've seen walk-off singles. We've even seen a walk-off bunt. But how about this walk-off, bases-clearing triple by Jorge Soler for the Angels?!

It was his only hit of the night, but Freddy Fermin walked it off for the Kansas City Royals to extend what was once a 12-game winning streak before it came to an end!

Shortly after firing manager Derek Shelton, the Pittsburgh Pirates hit a walk-off on Mother's Day to end the week on a high note courtesy of Joey Bart!

What better way to extend your winning streak to eight games than a walk-off with a pink bat on Mother's Day? The Minnesota Twins remained the hottest team in the American League this past week, and it was topped off with this walk-off hit by DaShawn Keirsey Jr.

Home Runs

New York Yankees first baseman Ben Rice cranked this one to deep right field for his first-ever grand slam!

Rice wasn't the only one to have a grand slam - Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Gabriel Moreno also joined in on the part with one of his own!

Chalk up another career milestone for Red Sox star third baseman Alex Bregman as he reached 200 career home runs this past week!

No better way of returning from the injured list than hitting a home run like Jackson Merrill did for the San Diego Padres this past week!

Not only did Jasson Dominguez have his first-ever two-home run game, but he also had his first-ever three-home run game while also hitting bombs from both sides of the plate!

Arizona Diamondbacks star Ketel Marte sent this one out of the park with emphasis - making it a pair on the night!

Chicago White Sox rookie Tim Elko made his MLB debut this past week and got his career started off in the best way possible - with a bomb to deep left!

Philadelphia Phillies power hitter Kyle Schwarber is now tied with Aaron Judge for the league lead in home runs with 14 after hitting his second bomb of the night!

Fielding

San Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado is doing Manny Machado things like usual. At this point, we should expect these kinds of plays from him every year, but still marvel at them and how nonchalantly he pulls them off.

Yep, he's back again in our weekly highlights. Daulton Varsho, after making what may be the catch of the year last week, comes back this time around with a stellar home run robbery for the Blue Jays!

Sometimes players overexaggerate their diving catches, but Washington Nationals centerfielder Dylan Crews put all he had into this insane diving catch!

And that's it from this week's highlights! Be sure to tune in next Sunday for all of the MLB's best putting on a show for us fans!
