The Tampa Bay Rays and outfielder Eloy Jimenez (28) have agreed to a minor-league deal, pending a physical.

The deal includes a possible $2 million if Jimenez makes the opening-day roster and another $2 million if he makes it to 500 plate appearances, according to MLB insider Hector Gomez.

Jimenez is coming off of the final year of his six-year, $43 million contract with the White Sox, where he was eventually traded to the Baltimore Orioles at the 2024 MLB trade deadline.

The six-year vet slashed .238/.289/.336/.626 on 100 plate appearances last season with six home runs and 23 RBI.

Jimenez, the former 2020 Silver Slugger, has a career .269 batting average with 95 home runs and 298 RBI in 1,966 at-bats. The once-solid hitter for Chicago will look for a possible career revival down in Tampa Bay for a Rays team that ranked 27th in batting average, 28th in home runs, 29th in RBI, 29th in runs, and 26th in hits this past season.
