Winners of this event in 2022, it's now three defeats from three for Sweden, who needed a turnaround in form having been edged by Italy and well-beaten by Great Britain, while Canada stay perfect in the Round Robin stage.
A 1-0 lead taken in the first end was maintained until Canada bounced back by taking the third end 2-0, before a point apiece in the next two gave the Canadians a 3-2 lead at the halfway mark.
Sweden looked to be making some inroads in end six, taking advantage of a mistake from Brad Jacobs to take it 2-0 and go ahead in the match, only for end eight to prove decisive.
This time it was Edin who failed to make his last stone count with plenty of red stones already in the house, allowing Jacobs to easily push his final stone towards the centre and take the end 4-0, putting the Canadians 7-4 up.
The Swedes made a fight of it, narrowing the gap back to 7-6 after end nine, but no mistakes from Canada in the final end allowed them to wrap up the victory, 8-6.
The defeat leaves Sweden 10th of 10 in the standings with six matches to play. Their chances of reaching the top four are not over, but they can seldom afford another loss. Maintaining their perfect record sees Canada top the table.
