Füchse Berlin on Thursday evening celebrated their third successive win in the Champions League. The German handball champions dominated Polish runners-up KS Kielce and recorded a 37-32 win as the only team with a perfect record in Group A.

World handball player Mathias Gidsel was the game's outstanding player with 13 goals. In the first half, the Berliners, who have finally put the leadership turmoil behind them with the double sacking of championship coach Jaron Siewert and sporting director Stefan Kretzschmar, were ten goals ahead at one stage.

Now Bucharest awaits

Led by Gidsel, Berlin played themselves into a frenzy in the first half, and goalkeeper Dejan Milosavljev made the Poles desperate with numerous saves (17 in total). However, the game threatened to slip away from the Foxes after the break as Kielce cut the lead to three goals. In the end, however, the Foxes recorded a comfortable win.

The fourth game in the prestigious competition will take place on 9 October (20:45/DAZN) against Dinamo Bucharest in Berlin. Before that, the Foxes still have to face ThSV Eisenach and HC Erlangen in the Bundesliga, with the DHB Cup match against HSG Wetzlar in between.
