HØJ Elite from the second best Men's handball league in Denmark have sensationally succeeded in securing the services of Swedish national team winger Hampus Wanne from FC Barcelona.

Despite playing in the second best handball league, Danish handball outfit HØJ Elite has been able to attract one of the world's best wingers, the Swedish international, Hampus Wanne

The Barcelona-player has signed a three-year contract.

This is confirmed by HØJ Elite, based in Ølstykke in Zealand, on their website

"Getting a player of Hampus Wanne's caliber to HØJ Elite is a huge scoop for us", says head coach Jesper Fredin.

"Hampus has enormous international experience and has performed on the biggest stage. For many years he has been among the world's absolute best in his position, and he will undoubtedly become a key player for us - both on and off the pitch", says the coach.

Hampus Wanne was heralded as a huge talent early in his career, and even before he was 20 years old, he was signed by Flensburg-Handewitt.

The 31-year old played there until 2022, when he was snatched up by mighty FC Barcelona.

His CV includes, among other things, two Champions League trophies and a gold medal from the European championships in 2022.

The club is currently leading the 1st division (second league in Denmark) by three points, down to second place.
