There were just four games in the National Hockey League (NHL) on Sunday, where the Dallas Stars made it four wins in a row.

Dallas Stars 6-1 Ottawa Senators

It was a dominant showing from the Dallas Stars, who topped the vising Ottawa Senators 6-1 thanks in large part to a Wyatt Johnson hat-trick.

The three goals puts Johnson, who netted a fourth hat-trick of his career, to 16 goals on the year. A dozen of those have come on power plays, with two of his markers on the day being on a man advantage.

Jason Robertson is also on 16 goals after adding one more coupled with two assists in the win. The other scorers for the Stars were Mavrik Bourque and Jamie Benn. Mikko Rantanen had three assists while Roope Hintz also helped on two of the goals.

Dalls are now 10-1-1 in their last 12 games. Goaltender Casey DeSmith made 15 saves on the night, improving his record to 6-0-2 in his last eight starts.

Ottawa's only goal came from Jake Sanderson, with David Perron and Nick Cousins adding the assists.

New York Islanders 1-4 Washington Capitals

The Washington Capitals continue to improve with a solid win at the New York Islanders. Tom Wilson got two of the goals while Logan Thompson kept out the hosts until late in the third period.

The other goals for the Caps came from Aliaksei Protas and Alex Ovechkin, who added empty-netters at the end, giving Washington their fourth win on the spin and seventh of their last eight (7-1-0).

Thompson has now allowed just four goals in his last three games.

The Islanders have fallen to 1-3-1 as part of a seven-game homestand after having a solid 6-1-0 road stretch.

Chicago Blackhawks 5-3 Anaheim Ducks

A pair of goals and assists from Connor Bedard helped the Chicago Blackhawks erase a three-goal deficit to defeat the Anaheim Ducks at home.

The other scorers for the hosts were Tyler Bertuzzi, Ryan Greene, and Colton Dach, while Spencer Knight came up big with 23 saves. The result ended a five-game losing skid for the Blackhawks (0-4-1).

Cutter Gauthier, Olen Zellweger, and Chris Kreider got the goals for the Ducks, who saw goaltender Petr Mrazek leave after suffering a lower-body injury during the third period. He had made 13 saves and conceded four of the goals before having to be replaced by Ville Husso, who conceded on the only shot he faced.

Carolina Hurricanes 1-0 Calgary Flames (OT)

It took a Nikolaj Ehlers goal with 2:08 left in overtime to give the Carolina Hurricanes a close win at home against the Calgary Flames.

It was Ehlers' fifth marker of the season, as he converts a pass from Taylor Hall to end that game. Sean Walker was also credited with an assist on the goal.

Winning goaltender Brandon Bussi made 15 saves to earn his first-ever NHL shutout as the Hurriances won their second consecutive games at home. Devin Cooley made 16 saves for the Flames, who seldom had a shot in the overtime period.
