After a shaky start, Swedish Hockey League (SHL) champions Lulea are finally beginning to find some form, as they won 6-3 away at Farjestad to string three wins together for the first time this season.

Lulea needed penalties to scrape past HV 71 a week ago but followed that up with a comfortable win over Vaxjo at the weekend, but their good form was in danger when Christoffer Jansson's goal for Farjestad was the only strike in the first 20 minutes tonight.

Casper Juustovaara Karlsson levelled the scores early in the second period, only for the home side to regain and then extend their lead before the seven-minute mark, courtesy of Filip Roos and Per Aslund.

However, the match swung back in the visitors' favour almost immediately - Anton Levtchi and Eetu Koivistoinen brought it back to 3-3, then Erik Gustafsson gave Lulea their first lead of the contest and ensured six goals had been scored in the first 10 minutes of the middle period.

Markus Nurmi then gave the away side some breathing space to take into the final 20 minutes, and Farjestad's comeback hopes were dealt a blow five minutes from time when Aslund was ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct.

A man down, the hosts pulled the goaltender to give themselves a chance, only for Mathias Brome to score into an empty net and seal a 6-3 win for Lulea. They climb to seventh, above Farjestad who drop to eighth following three losses in their last four.

An overtime win on Tuesday over Bolzano in the Champions Hockey League (CHL) means it's four wins in a row in all competitions for Lulea, who secured a place in the Round of 16 in Europe.

Brynas were defeated 2-1 by Belfast Giants in the CHL on Tuesday but will join their compatriots in the Playoffs, and celebrated that safe passage by winning 3-2 at home to Leksand back in domestic competition this evening.

The Gavle side also leapforgged their opponents - a first league win in three takes them to 10th place, but a third loss in succession sees Leksand fall to 12th.

With leaders Frolunda not in action tonight, second-placed Rogle were able to cut the gap to two points by coming from behind to beat Malmo 3-2 away from home.

It's a return to winning ways after Rogle lost the top-of-the-table clash last time out, but the Redhawks continue to slide thanks to four losses in succession which sees them slip to 11th.

Overtime was needed as third met fourth in Timra, and Emil Pettersson's goal in the extra period gave the home side a 2-1 win over Skelleftea, who remain in third place but only a point clear of Timra.

Finally, the two sides in the bottom two were both celebrating - Orebro got the better of Linkoping in a shootout to record a 4-3 victory, while HV 71 stay in last place despite an impressive 7-3 win at home against Djurgarden.
