The Utah Mammoth signed forward Logan Cooley to an eight-year, $80 million contract extension on Wednesday.

Cooley has a team-leading eight goals along with four assists (12 points) through 11 games this season, including a goal during the team's most recent loss to the Edmonton Oilers

The 21-year-old originally made his debut with the then-Arizona Coyotes during the 2023-2024 season after he was selected third overall in the 2022 NHL draft - making the highest draft pick to come out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in NHL history.

Of course, this was all before the team eventually relocated to Utah.

Cooley is coming off back-to-back 20+ goals, 20+ assists seasons, setting career highs last season with 25 goals and 40 assists.

His 18:47 ice time is also a step up from the past two seasons as the Mammoth are currently sitting atop the Western Conference with an 8-3-0 record to start the season.

Utah's recent loss to the Oilers was their first since introducing Tusk as the team's official mascot - originally winning seven straight games since he was revealed.

Their next game is against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Sunday, November 2nd.
