Stafura, was Pittsburgh's No. 9 prospect. He's hitting .276 with a .906 OPS, 20 home runs, 54 RBI, and 20 stolen bases through 60 minor league games between Single-A and High-A.
This now marks Weaver's seventh team in his 11 years in the league. After spending the first three with the St. Louis Cardinals (2016-2018), then the following three-and-a-half with the Arizona Diamondbacks before they traded him to the Kansas City Royals during the 2022 season.
In 2023, Weaver hopped between three teams (Cincinnati Reds, Seattle Mariners, and New York Yankees) as he continued to struggle. He finished that season with an ERA above 6.00 for the third time in his career.
Then, it changed with the Yankees. Weaver tossed a career-best (at the time) 2.89 ERA and 0.929 WHIP with 103 strikeouts (career-high) through 84 innings in 2024, followed up by a solid season in 2025 with a 3.62 ERA.
