So without wasting any time, let's get into all of the game previews for today and tomorrow!
Miami Dolphins @ Indianapolis Colts (-1.5)
While it's not the most anticipated matchup of the week by any stretch of the imagination, this battle of 8-9 teams could prove to be entertaining (somewhat).
Indy has lost their home openers the past two years. However, they have won four of the last five games against the Dolphins. Running back Tyler Goodson is the only one questionable for Indy, while Jaylen Wright, Darren Waller, and Ethan Bonner have all been ruled out for Miami, with James Daniels and Dee Eskridge questionable.
Pittsburgh Steelers (-2.5) @ New York Jets
It's a battle of quarterback swaps. Justin Fields will lead the Jets against his former team while Aaron Rodgers will do the same. Pittsburgh has won five straight road openers, while the Jets have won two of their last three home openers.
New York lost starting guard Alijah Vera-Tucker for the year after tearing his triceps while the Steelers can breath a sigh of relief after finalizing a new deal with All-Pro defensive tackle Cameron Heyward. Jets linemen Chukwuma Okorafor and Esa Pole are both questionable for the game.
Linebacker Nick Herbig is out for Pittsburgh, while rookie defensive tackle Derrick Harmon is questionable.
Carolina Panthers @ Jacksonville Jaguars (-3.5)
It's a battle of the cats in Week 1! Jacksonville and Carolina both finished with some of the worst records last season but the matchup still has headlines - Jags rookie Travis Hunter, who was named a starting wide receiver and secondary cornerback for the game, and Panthers quarterback Bryce Young.
Panthers tackle Ikem Ekwonu has been ruled doubtful for the game due to an illness and cornerback Amari Mathis is out with a knee injury. On the Jags' side, cornerback Montaric Brown and offensive lineman Wyatt Milum are both out, with offensive lineman Cole Van Lanen listed as questionable.
Arizona Cardinals (-6.5) @ New Orleans Saints
The Saints ended last season with six straight games scoring less than 20 points. On the other hand, the Cardinals finished the year scoring the most points in the NFC West. New Orleans is predicted by many to be the worst season.
They were the last team to hire a new head coach. The questions they have at quarterback, among other positions. This game might be the first to show the Saints faithful it'll be a long season.
Both Dante Stills (DL) and Owen Pappoe (OL) are listed as questionable for the Cards, with Will Hernandez ruled out. Meanwhile, the Saints will be without defensive end Chase Young and offensive tackle Trevor Penning.
New York Giants @ Washington Commanders (-6.5)
After sweeping the season series last year, the Commanders are looking to win three straight against the Giants for the first time since they won four straight between 1998-2000. New York will be rolling with veteran Russell Wilson at quarterback, but Giants fans will remain on the edge of their seats anticipating for when rookie Jaxon Dart will make his first start.
The Commanders are coming off a year they lost to the eventual Super Bowl champion Eagles in the NFC Championship and are looking to rebound back to that stage for another shot this year. Giants star wide receiver Malik Nabers is expected to play despite not practicing due to back tightness.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-1.5) @ Atlanta Falcons
In this battle of NFC South rivals, the last six matchups between the Bucs and Falcons have been decided by six points or less, which is currently the longest streak between divisional opponents. Tampa has also won four straight Week 1 games heading into Sunday's matchup, but will be without star tackle Tristan Wirfs and starting receiver Chris Godwin.
Meanwhile, the Falcons' starting receiver Darnell Mooney is still questionable with a shoulder injury. But they'll need him if they want to earn just their second road opener since 2020.
Cincinnati Bengals (-5.5) @ Cleveland Browns
It's going to be a scrappy AFC North battle with the Ohio rivals, even if the Bengals have won four of the last five matchups. But expect a lot of passing.
The Browns and Bengals were first and second in the entire NFL in pass-play percentage, meaning no teams threw the ball at a higher rate than they did. This time around, it'll be a showdown between MVP candidate Joe Burrow and former Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco.
Las Vegas Raiders @ New England Patriots (-2.5)
Despite being the favourites, New England lost the previous two matchups against the Raiders. However, both teams did a lot of revamping in the offseason. It'll be Raiders head coach Pete Carroll's first game back with the headset since 2023.
On the other side, Mike Vrabel will be debuting in his first game as the Pats' new head coach. Rookie left Will Campbell is questionable after being limited in practice this week for the Pats, but cornerback Christian Gonzalez is out. Meanwhile, the Raiders will be rolling out a fully healthy squad.
San Francisco 49ers (-1.5) @ Seattle Seahawks
Despite losing five of the last six matchups, the Seahawks are running on their most recent win in this NFC West matchup. And while the 17 injuries listed on the 49ers' injury report are a cause for concern, they're still the favourites.
Most of their injured players were full participants in practice, but the big one surrounds superstar running back Christian McCaffrey, who is listed as questionable with a calf injury after not practicing on Saturday (*update: McCaffrey will play). San Fran went 5-8 without McCaffrey last season, including the one loss to Seattle. However, in the game he did play against Seattle, the 49ers won.
So that'll be the big news break of the day when we finally hear what his status will be.
Tennessee Titans @ Denver Broncos (-8.5)
Denver sitting at 8.5-point favourites over the Titans is the widest margin of any matchup in Week 1. And it shows that history does repeat itself as Titans' new rookie QB Cam Ward is under immense pressure. Why? Because QBs drafted No. 1 overall are 5-22-1 in their first career start. Prior to Bears QB Caleb Williams last season, these QBs had gone winless in their previous 15 attempts.
Players out for the game due to injury for Denver include Nate Adkins (DT), Dre Greenlaw (LB), and Malcolm Roach (DT). As for the Titans, safety Kevin Winston Jr. is listed as doubtful while Kalel Mullings (RB) and L'Jarius Sneed (CB) are both questionable after limited practice participation on Saturday.
Detroit Lions @ Green Bay Packers (-1.5)
Micah Parsons' first game with the Packers. Lions looking to extend their NFC North winning streak to seven games after sweeping the division last year. And if the Lions prevail, quarterback Jared Goff will become the first visiting quarterback to win four straight matchups at the iconic Lambeau Field since Jim McMahon (1984-1988).
Detroit has the most wins (27) in the league over the past two seasons and heading into the matchup with the number one scoring offence from last season. Meanwhile, Green Bay, the youngest team in the league, boasts a wealth of talent.
Green Bay has seven players listed as questionable for the matchup, but they were all limited in practice on San Fran, meaning it'll come down to game time to see who's in and who's not.
Houston Texans @ Los Angeles Rams (-3.5)
The Texans are finally making their first appearance at SoFi Stadium since it opened, leaving only the Colts to be the only outsiders in the league. For a defence that ranked second in interceptions and fourth in sacks, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford could endure some trouble as he deals with a nagging back injury.
However, Stafford could possibly hit a historic milestone in this game - becoming just the 10th quarterback in NFL history to surpass 60,000 career passing yards. The two teams have only played each other five times (Rams winning four of them), with the last matchup being in 2021.
Texans wide receivers Braxton Berrios and Christian Kirk are both our for the game after not practicing all week due to injuries while guard Ed Ingram is questionable.
Minnesota Vikings (-1.5) @ Chicago Bears
Minnesota are coming off one of their best seasons after posting 14 wins, the second most in franchise history. All eyes will be on two-year quarterback J.J. McCarthy as he takes the reins from now-former QB Sam Darnold - who is coming off a career year. But their defence is the real story. They were the only team in the NFL to force a turnover in all 17 games.
Chicago revamped their entire team, especially the offence, in all the best ways. It'll mark Ben Johnson's regular season debut as an NFL head coach after leading the Lions to the No. 1 scoring offence last season.
Minnesota will be without Zavier Scott (RB), Elijah Williams (DE), and Harrison Smith (S). As for Chicago, T.J. Edwards (LB) is doubtful, while Josh Blackwell (DB), Jaylon Johnson (DB), and Roschon Johnson (RB) are all questionable after being limited participants in practice on Saturday.
