Capitals 5-3 Penguins
Ovechkin recently announced that this season will officially be his last, and what better home opener to have than a win against their hated rivals.
The Caps got out to a 4-1 lead late into the second period before the Penguins started to rally with two goals before the second intermission. But Washington held on in the third as Ryan Leonard's second goal of the season came on a power play early on to seal the deal.
Jets 3-2 Avalanche
Kyle Connor proved clutch for his Jets after scoring two of their three goals, with his second coming late in the third period with exactly one minute remaining in the game.
Connor brought his season goal total to five, while teammate Cole Perfetti scored his third. Jaden Schwartz and Fedor Svechkov scored their firsts of the season for Colorado, while both also recorded an assist on each other's goals.
Oilers 5-2 Ducks
The Oilers are the first team to exceed 20 goals on the season as they continue to be a dominant force on the forecheck. Connor McDavid is off to an insane start, putting up three goals and nine assists through the team's first four games.
After the Ducks scored the first two goals, the Oilers put up five straight, all in the second period, with Evan Bouchard starting the rally just 11 seconds in. He finished the night with two goals, bringing his season total to five. Meanwhile, Leon Draisaitl racked up three assists to bring his season total to five.
