Harry Kane is enjoying the most scintillating form of his career in Germany. At 32, the England centre-forward has already bagged 22 goals in his first 14 games of the season, surpassing every record set by the best strikers of the last two decades.

There are players who embody the very concept of "goal," and Harry Kane is undoubtedly one of them. The England centre-forward, who joined Bayern Munich just over two seasons ago after a long career at Tottenham, continues to do what he does best: score.

The transfer to the Bundesliga has not slowed him down in the slightest. Indeed, as BeSoccer Pro data confirms, Kane is experiencing the most prolific start to a season in his career, with 22 goals in 14 official matches and an impressive average of 1.57 goals per game.

These figures surpass any of his previous seasonal starts: in the two previous years at Bayern, he had stopped at 17 goals in the same number of games, while at Tottenham he had never exceeded 13. These numbers immediately place him among the favourites for the Ballon d'Or next year and rewrite record after record.

Less creating, more scoring

Kane's incredible goalscoring form at the start of this season has had a clear side effect: a reduction in assists. The England centre-forward, in fact, seems to have directed all his efforts towards finishing, partly sacrificing his usual ability to create for his teammates.

If we examine the first fourteen matches of the last four seasons, this one is the least generous in terms of assists. In 2020-21, when he was still captain of Tottenham, Kane provided 10 assists in as many games, a figure that testified to his dual nature as a goalscorer and playmaker.

With the move to Bayern Munich, the numbers have progressively decreased: Seven assists in the 2023-24 season, six in 2024-25, and just three in the current one. This highlights how the Englishman has transformed more and more into a pure offensive weapon, focused almost exclusively on scoring.

However, if we consider the overall contribution between goals and assists, the England international is experiencing the most productive season of his career. With 25 direct involvements in Bayern Munich's goals, Kane has already surpassed the 24 of the 2023-24 season and the 23 of the previous one, thus setting his new personal record.

This brings him back to the levels of his best year at Tottenham, the 2020-21 season, when he started with 23 goals and assists, also becoming top scorer in the Premier League ahead of Mohamed Salah.

2025-26: 3 assists (Bayern Munich)

A String of Victories

At Bayern Munich, Harry Kane is not only rewriting his personal records but is also experiencing a level of collective success that he had only glimpsed at Tottenham. The best start to the season of his career coincides with the best start ever for the Bavarian club in the 21st century.

The German side have achieved an impressive clean sweep of victories in the first 14 official matches of the season, a feat never achieved before in European football. Vincent Kompany's side are the only team still unbeaten across all competitions in the major European leagues.

Not even Kane, in his years in England or in previous seasons in Germany, had ever experienced such a perfect start. In the first 14 games of previous years, in fact, he had stopped at 11 wins in 2023-24, 10 in 2024-25, and another 10 in the 2017-18 and 2014-15 seasons with Tottenham.

Better than Messi, Ronaldo, and Haaland

Harry Kane's incredible start to the season is not limited to breaking personal or Bayern Munich records: his numbers project him even beyond the greatest goalscorers of the last twenty years.

With 22 goals in the first 14 official matches of the 2025-26 season, the England centre-forward has surpassed the previous record held by Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored 21 goals with Real Madrid in 2014-15, and Erling Haaland, who reached the same tally in the 2019-20 season with RB Salzburg, before his move to Borussia Dortmund.

Just behind are Robert Lewandowski, who scored 19 goals in the first 14 matches of 2019-20 with Bayern Munich, and Luis Suárez, who recorded the same with Liverpool in 2013-14.

Further behind, but still protagonists of extraordinary starts, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe. The Argentine reached 17 goals with Barcelona in 2012-13, while the Frenchman is experiencing his best start ever with 16 goals in 13 games with Real Madrid, just one game less than the other top scorers in the comparison.
