SC Freiburg who have qualified for the Europa League next season, have signed the 23-year old Japanese international footballer Yuito Suzuki from Brondby. According to media reports, the Breisgau club will pay between seven and eight million EUROs. Suzuki could replace his compatriot Ritsu Doan, who has been linked with Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt, among other clubs.

As usual, Freiburg haven't provided any information about the duration of the contract. Suzuki have scored a total of 23 goals in 69 competitive matches for Brondby."We have been trying to sign Yuito for a really long time and are happy that it has now worked out," said board member Jochen Saier.

Suzuki will be given the shirt number 14 at Freiburg and has"achieved impressive results in recent years, including this season", say the club in a press release.

The agreement, which according to Brondby sporting director Benjamin Schmedes is "one of the biggest transfers" in the club's history, will come into effect on July 1.

Schmedes is proud of the agreement and believes that Suzuki "has always worked hard and shown great quality on the pitch".

"The move to the Bundesliga once again sends a strong signal that Brondby is a place where talented players can develop and make the leap to the biggest leagues in Europe", says Schmedes.
