PSG supporters behind one goal produced an enormous and imposing shower curtain-style banner of a masked man in a PSG jersey destroying the iconic Barcelona logo with a chainsaw, above the words "Massacre, Parisian style".
The image appears to have been inspired by the 'Leatherface' character from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise, a sadistic and deranged cannibal who murders his unsuspecting victims with a chainsaw and creates facial masks out of their skin.
Revealed just moments before another thoroughly entertaining fixture kicked off between the two sides, fireworks also protruded through the banner to simulate sparks coming from the chainsaw.
Spanish publication SPORT and ESPN both reported late in the evening that sources from inside the Barcelona club were thoroughly displeased with the tifo, with one describing it as "overly aggressive and offensive".
The two sides have been fierce competitors for both the official and unofficial titles of Europe's best and biggest club this decade, producing no shortage of exciting Champions League contests in recent years.
PSG and Barcelona have now met on eight occasions in the Champions League over the last ten years and piled on 37 goals combined in that time, with the French giants winning five of those games including each of the last three.
They share the top of the Champions League standings with Liverpool after amassing 14 goals in their three victories, whilst Barcelona occupied fifth spot at the end of Tuesday's games but are set to fall down the table upon the completion of the matchday on Wednesday evening.
