After a thrilling playoff round, the UEFA Champions League has made it to the last 16 and this is where things get really interesting. With some blockbuster ties and plenty of intrigue, we should be in for plenty more upsets and drama over the two legs.

Wednesday, March 5th

23:05 CET - Well, another breathless night is over, here are all the scores from Wednesday's matches:

Bayern Munich 3-0 Bayer Leverkusen

Benfica 0-1 Barcelona

PSG 0-1 Liverpool

Feyenoord 0-2 Inter

23:00 CET - Finally tonight, in Lisbon, 10-man Barcelona have edged out Benfica 1-0 thanks to Raphinha’s second-half thunderbolt.

22:56 CET - Over in Munich, Bayern Munich have beaten Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 thanks largely to a brace from Harry Kane.

22:54 CET - That is game over in Paris and Liverpool have snatched an unlikely and very valuable 1-0 win over PSG.

Harvey Elliott scored the winner but they'll be thanking Alisson for an incredible performance between the sticks!

20:45 CET - Liverpool have taken a shock lead against PSG through substitute Harvey Elliott with virtually his first touch! That has come from nowhere, devastating for the hosts, who have been brilliant.

Opta: Elliott scored 46 seconds after coming on as a substitute, the second fastest in the Champions League this season, after Ademola Lookman for Atalanta (after 35 seconds against Club Brugge).

22:34 CET - Harry Kane has scored from the spot for his second and Bayern’s third against Bayer! That’s 3-0 and surely, game over. Maybe even tie over… It’s been a disaster night for Leverkusen littered with errors and poor decisions.

Here's a fun fact via Opta: Since joining Bayern Munich ahead of the 2023/24 campaign, Kane has scored more goals than any other player from Europe’s big five leagues across all competitions (75).

22:26 CET - 10-man Barcelona have taken the lead against Benfica thanks to a wonderful strike from Raphinha! The hosts coughed up the ball in defence and the Barca star took his chance with some style, driving it into the bottom corner from distance.

22:22 CET - Things have gone from bad to worse for Bayer Leverkusen... they are now down to 10 men (and 2-0 down) with Nordi Mukiele receiving his second yellow card of the evening for a nasty tackle.

22:20 CET - After an hour, it’s fair to say PSG have dominated Liverpool but it’s still goalless in Paris. Below are the hosts attacking thirds - you can see they've targeted the right channel.

22:13 CET - Bayern Munich have doubled their lead over Bayer Leverkusen thanks to an error from visiting keeper Matej Kovar. The Czech dropped a regulation cross and Jamal Musiala was on hand to poke it home. 2-0 Bayern in Munich.

22:05 CET - The second halves are getting started around the grounds, will we have a few more goals? Just one so far in the late games...

21:53 CET - Finally to Lisbon where it remains 0-0 but Benfica have a huge chance in the second period with Barcelona down to 10 men and you feel they must make the most of it whilst they still have home advantage.

21:50 CET - Kane's bullet header remains the difference in Munich although the home side have had more chances to double their advantage and might be disappointed to only be 1-0 up at the break. That speaks volumes to how good Vincent Kompany's side have been so far.

21:48 CET - Half-time in Paris as a gripping half of football comes to a close and somehow it remains 0-0. PSG have peppered Alisson in Liverpool's goal but the Brazilian has reminded Europe why he is one of the world's best keepers with some astonishing saves.

21:30 CET - The Premier League leaders have yet to have a shot 30 minutes played as PSG have dominated both possession and the chances.

21:25 CET - Meanwhile, a big blow to Barcelona's hopes as they go down to 10 men in Lisbon after a red card for Pau Cubarsi.

21:24 CET - Khvicha Kvaratskhelia thought he had scored a worldie in Paris as he curled an effort into the top corner but VAR rules it out for offside. PSG have been all over Liverpool though and the English side need to wake up here.

21:12 CET - Vintage Harry Kane scores the night's first goal! An inviting cross from Michael Olise is met by Kane who attacks it in the air and finds the top corner with an expertly placed bullet header! 1-0 Bayern in Munich.

20:57 CET - We are closing in on kick-off in Paris as both sides walk out to the Champions League theme tune.

Anyone else pumped for this tonight?

20:47 CET - Whilst all three games tonight are mega, PSG vs Liverpool just has so much about it that promises to be great. From two attacking sides to two of the best goalkeepers in the world - there is so much to be excited for.

However, from a Liverpool point of view, the tie might be won and lost depending on how well they deal with man of the moment Ousmane Dembele

20:45 CET - We are just 15 minutes away from kick-off in a big night of football. If you are like us and can't decide which game to watch, then be sure to keep our live coverage open for the next two hours of fascinating Champions League action.

We will be providing updates on all the goals, Opta stats and any other big talking points!

20:40 CET - Inter have one foot in the quarter-finals after holding on to a comfortable 2-0 win in Feyenoord despite their injury crisis at wing-back.

Inter weren't at their best but they got the job done professionally and Feyenoord caused them very few problems.

20:15 CET - Last but not least Benfica host Barcelona in a rematch of the 5-4 thriller in the league phase and the teams are in from Lisbon too.

20:10 CET - In a blockbuster tie between two German giants, Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen, Xabi Alonso has made a surprise call by not starting a recognised striker and Patrik Schick on the bench!

20:07 CET - Team news is in for the late games as both PSG and Liverpool have named strong sides for a huge clash around 50 minutes.

19:54 CET - Feyenoord are in trouble now! Inter double their first leg lead and this time it is Thuram's strike partner Lautaro Martinez who scores as he fires an unstoppable effort into the top right-hand corner from close range.

19:33 CET - It's half-time at De Kuip and Inter lead Feyenoord 1-0. There's been nothing between the two sides but the visitors lead thanks to an excellent finish from Thuram.

19:23 CET - Inter lead! They've done next to nothing going forward but took the first chance they got with Marcus Thuram turning in a cross from Nicolo Barella to make it 1-0.

19:16 CET - It's been an evenly-matched opening 30 minutes in Rotterdam with Feyenoord - perhaps surprisingly - looking the more likely of the two sides to score. There haven't been any major chances at either end yet though.

17:40 CET - Below you can see how the sides will line up in Rotterdam this evening. Robin van Persie is suffering from a massive injury list heading into his first Champions League match as Feyenoord boss.

Simone Inzaghi’s Inter, on the other hand, are missing a few key players but still look deadly with Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram leading the line in a front two.

17:25 CET - There was plenty of drama in the Champions League yesterday but today's schedule is arguably even more enticing! Continuing on the last-16 first legs, here's what we have to look forward to this evening:

Feyenoord vs Inter - 18:45 CET

Bayern Munich vs Bayer Leverkusen - 21:00 CET

Benfica vs Barcelona - 21:00 CET

PSG vs Liverpool - 21:00 CET

Tuesday, March 4th

23:00 CET - Check out the other two results here:

Dortmund 1-1 Lille

PSV 1-7 Arsenal

22:54 CET - All over in Madrid and a brilliant first leg has finished 2-1 to Real Madrid.

Atletico Madrid won't be too annoyed with that as it gives them hope at an electric Metropolitano of getting back into it. It is also a good night for Real who responded like the champions they are after Alvarez's incredible equaliser to restore their advantage.

It is all set up for a fascinating second leg!

22:45 CET - This is getting silly now - Arsenal 7-1 PSV! Riccardo Calafiori gets in on the action as Martin Odegaard returns the favour from earlier by setting up the full-back to score. It has been a humbling and awful night for PSV who somehow have to muster the energy for a return leg in London knowing they are already out.

22:33 CET - Six for sensational Arsenal! This is getting humiliating for the home side who have been played off the park.

A strike from the edge of the error from Martin Odegaard is powerful but right at Walter Benitez in goal, but the keeper's hand is not strong enough to stop the ball from looping in.

22:27 CET - Lille are level in Dortmund! A clever ball in behind from Jonathan David releases Arnar Haraldsson who despite losing his balance, pokes the ball into the corner. 1-1!

22:16 CET - A brilliant team move is finished off by Brahim Diaz who finds the bottom corner after good persistence inside the box. A big goal for the hosts who are back in full voice now.

22:09 CET - And already two more goals! Arsenal mean business tonight and surely that is tie over as they now lead 5-1!

First up, captain Martin Odegaard side footed into an empty net from a rebound before one minute later Leandro Trossard put the game to bed with a cheeky dinked finish from close range.

22:08 CET - Here we go again then!

21:57 CET - Elsewhere at the break:

Dortmund 1-0 Lille

PSV 1-3 Arsenal

I don't think even the most optimistic Arsenal fan would have predicted that to be the half-time score after their recent troubles in front of goal but their side have turned up for the big occasion and found their shooting boots at last!

21:49 CET - A Madrid derby classic has reached half time. That was a thrilling 45 minutes, which until Alvarez's moment of magic was going exactly how it usually goes for Real at home in the Champions League.

However, that goal has stunned and silenced the Bernabeu. The next 45 minutes is crucial for Real's chances, you feel.

21:45 CET - A goal back for PSV but is it already too little too late? Noa Lang showed good composure from the spot after a clumsy challenge inside the box from Thomas Partey.

21:37 CET - A truly great and unforgettable Champions League from Julian Alvarez! A special strike from a special player as Atletico's new star released a rocket from what seemed an unlikely angle but curled from right to left and clipped the post on its way in.

Spectacular, sensational, Spiderman.

21:32 CET - Considering their form coming into, few would have expected this first half in Eindhoven! Arsenal are 3-0 up after a VAR check confirmed Mikel Merino was onside before slotting a side footed effort into the bottom left corner.

21:27 CET - There has now been a goal in all three games on tonight as a long range beauty from Karim Adeyemi has given hosts Dortmund the lead against Lille.

The Yellow Wall might be having a poor domestic campaign but you can never rule them out in Europe. They love this competition and belong on the big stage.

21:22 CET - That miss is looking bigger and bigger as Arsenal double their lead after a lovely passing move. It is a story of two youngsters as Myles Lewis-Kelly squared it to fellow teenager Ethan Nwaneri who fired the ball into the top corner inside the box.

21:18 CET - And the hosts are punished for that miss as Declan Rice hooks a cross toward Jurrien Timber at the back post who heads Arsenal ahead!

21:16 CET - Big chance for PSV to take the lead but they hit the woodwork with the goal gaping!

21:11 CET - Well a Galatico has stepped up but not the two mentioned before kick-off. Rodrygo is the man who brilliantly curls an effort into the corner of the goal to give the hosts a dream start to the Madrid derby!

20:57 CET - The teams are walking out at the Santiago Bernabeu ahead of a mouthwatering city derby! This should be good.

20:50 CET - It is in some ways just another night for Real Madrid as this stage of the Champions League is their pass and parcel. However, Los Blancos play their 500th Champions League match tonight, which is some achievement.

There have been so many golden generations with Galacticos who stepped up time after time on nights like this. Is this the night for new Galaticos Vini Jr. and Kylian Mbappe to shine?

20:50 CET - It is a big night for young Ethan Nwaneri as he is set to become just the third English player to start a UCL knockout game under the age of 18.

20:37 CET - A big stride towards the quarter-finals for Aston Villa! They were a long way off it tonight but Club Brugge failed to take their chances and Villa capitalised with two late goals.

Going into the game, the visitors probably would have taken a draw, so to take a 3-1 win back to Villa Park is dreamland in a night that could have been a nightmare.

20:30 CET - Tie over? Marco Asensio is the calmest man on the pitch to notch away a perfectly placed penalty from 12-yards to put Villa 3-1 up after a quickfire double. Incredible few minutes in Brugge.

20:26 CET - A big break for Villa as a Morgan Rogers cross is put into his own net by Brandon Mechele! Villa haven't been great tonight and have had to ride the storm at times but they are now ahead on the road.

20:15 CET - Elsewhere, it is a familiar team for Arsenal as they travel to PSV with Mikel Merino once again starting as the number nine.

The final of the three evening matches sees Borussia Dortmund host Lille in a game that should produce goals.

20:05 CET - Ready for some team news for tonight's matches?

Well ready or not, it is here Arsenal fans! First of all, the headlines come from the Madrid derby as Real Madrid go very attacking against their city rivals Atletico Madrid who are expected to sit back and soak up the pressure.

Jude Bellingham is out through suspension as the Englishman has collected too many yellow cards in Europe.

19:47 CET - We're back underway for the second half at the Jan Breydel Stadium, as Club Brugge and Aston Villa look to take a lead into next week's return leg at Villa Park.

19:32 CET - A pulsating first half comes to an end in Brugge, with the two sides level at 1-1.

19:17 CET - The end-to-end nature of the contest shows no signs of slowing down, as Chemsdine Talbi sees a sharp low effort superbly thwarted by Emiliano Martinez in the visitors' goal.

19:00 CET - What an opening quarter-hour in Belgium as Club Brugge find an immediate response! They were behind for less than 10 minutes, with left-back Maxim De Cuyper scoring his first-ever goal in the Champions League to restore parity.

18:49 CET - A dream start for Aston Villa! Unai Emery's side are ahead inside three minutes, with Leon Bailey dispatching a sublime first-time effort into the bottom corner from Tyrone Mings' cushioned header.

18:46 CET - We're now underway at the Jan Breydel Stadium. Stay tuned for all the latest updates!

18:00 CET - First up tonight though sees a rematch in Brugge between Club Brugge and Aston Villa after they met in the league phase.

There is more at stake this time around though - a place in the quarter-finals awaits. Something that would be an incredible achievement for either club.

Follow the first game of the last 16 here from 18:45 CET

The big team news is that Marcus Rashford makes his return to the Champions League as he starts off the left for Villa, whilst there is only a place on the bench for man of the moment Marco Asensio.
