Manchester City have been boosted by some good news ahead of their Champions League game with Monaco.
Rodri, who returned this season from an ACL injury, was absent from the recent Premier League game against Burnley in which City picked apart the newly promoted side in a 5-1 victory.
This was a great warm-up for this week’s Champions League affair with Ligue 1 giants Monaco at the Stade Louis in what should be an intense affair for manager Pep Guardiola, who was handed a major boost ahead of the game.
As reported by Sky Sports journalist Ben Ransom, Rodri is back in training and may be ready to feature against Monaco on Wednesday night.
“Rodri first out for Man City training this morning after missing the win over Burnley due to pain in his knee.”
Frenchman Rayan Cherki is also back in training and was spotted with the first team as he prepares for the clash and a potential start under Guardiola after recovering from a thigh injury.
If Rodri regains full fitness and Marmoush picks up where he left off, City will be able to not only start the pair but also rotate the side properly for the first time this season.
This comes after several injuries which have hurt Guardiola’s plans so far as he battles in every competition available to him this season.
