Ajax manager Francesco Farioli refused to commit to his future at Ajax in an interview after Sunday's 2-0 win over FC Twente.

Ajax spoiled a 9-point lead in the final five games of the season and were left trophyless after a season in which they didn't lose a single league game between December and late April.

An emotionally overwhelmed Francesco Farioli, who joined the club prior to this season after managing OGC Nice in the French Ligue 1, walked a lap of the Johan Cruyff ArenA to applaud and take in the reactions from the Ajax faithful after their 2-0 win over FC Twente in the final game of the seasona.

In an emotional interview with ESPN after the game, however, Farioli refused to commit to a future with Ajax. When asked about his future with the Amsterdam club, Farioli avoided a real answer. "The future of Ajax is the most important."

Farioli is under contract at Ajax until June 2027. ESPN reported on Sunday that Ajax and Farioli are nearing an end to their cooperation as tensions rise between the Italian manager and the executive board, but Farioli himself said he'll respect his contract at Ajax at Sunday's press conference.
