53-year-old Van de Looi will leave Heracles after the current season, as announced in early March. The former Netherlands U21 manager joined Heracles in December 2023 and led the team to a 14th-place finish in 2023-24.
Bas Sibum will replace Van de Looi after the conclusion of the 2024-25 season. 42-year-old Sibum started his first managerial job in 2023 at Roda JC, the club for which he played 20 games during his playing career.
In 2024, Sibum got Roda on the brink of promotion to the Eredivisie, but failed to return to the top flight after a late-season collapse and a loss to FC Groningen on the final day of the regular season. Sibum was named 'Manager of the Year' in the Dutch second division following the 2023-24 campaign. Roda JC are currently in tenth in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie, five points outside the playoff spots.
Sibum played eight games for Heracles Almelo between 2014 and 2016.
