The American striker had to get taken off after 76 minutes with what seemed to be a minor injury. Medical exams determined the injury to be worse than initially thought.
PSV have not disclosed the severity or nature of the injury due to privacy reasons, but have announced that Pepi injured his anterior cruciate ligament and will be out “a couple of months,” according to De Telegraaf’s Jeroen Kapteijns.
Earlier this week it was reported that West Ham United had an offer of €25 million for Pepi get rejected by PSV. Instead, Pepi is set to sign an extension which will keep the American international tied down until 2030.

22-year-old Pepi was crucial in PSV’s 3-2 win over Premier League and Champions League leaders Liverpool with a goal and an assist.
The American has scored 17 goals so far this season and provided 3 assists for the Dutch league leaders.
