It's Manchester United against Tottenham Hotspur in the final of the Europa League - follow all the action live with Flashscore.

22:58 CET - TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR ARE THE EUROPA LEAGUE CHAMPIONS! INCREDIBLE SCENES IN BILBAO AS THEY CLINCH THEIR FIRST TROPHY IN 17 YEARS AGAINST MANCHESTER UNITED!

It was a shoddy match bereft of any quality, but Spurs won't care one single bit. Ange Postecoglou said he always wins things in his second season, and he lived up to the promise! Brennan Johnson's scrappy goal was the difference, and he becomes an instant legend! Their third UEFA Cup/Europa League trophy.

For Manchester United, it is an utter disaster. They put in a slow, torrid performance, and didn't create any real chances in the whole match. They end the season with no European football, no trophy and towards the bottom of the Premier League. One of their worst seasons in history, Ruben Amorim is going to come under massive pressure.

22:51 CET - Seven minutes added time! Pain for Spurs and a bit of hope for United.

22:50 CET - Archie Gray and Djed Spence are coming on for Spurs, while Kobbie Mainoo enters for United. We are heading into added time. Spurs are so close now.

22:45 CET - Diogo Dalot is on for Noussair Mazraoui. Time to send Harry Maguire up front and swing in some crosses?

22:43 CET - Seven minutes left for Spurs to hang on as United probe and probe. Should United score, it is hard to see how Spurs win this game after switching to a back five to just sit back and defend.

Tottenham haven't attempted a shot in this game since Brennan Johnson's opener in the 42nd minute, while they've only had one touch in the opposition box in the second half.

22:39 CET - The goalscorer Brennan Johnson has come off for Spurs, with defender Kevin Danso coming on to bolster their backline with 12 minutes to go. United are dominating the ball, can Spurs hang on for their first trophy in 17 years?

22:35 CET - Big save from Guglielmo Vicario, with the Italian goalkeeper tipping away substitute Alejandro Garnacho's strike.

22:32 CET - United have made their first two changes of the final in the 70th minute. Rasmus Hojlund and Mason Mount off, and Joshua Zirkzee and Alejandro Garnacho on.

22:30 CET - What a goal line clearance from Micky Van de Ven! Incredible acrobatics on the line to prevent United from equalising!

22:27 CET - The first change of the game has come from Spurs, surprisingly. Richarlison has come off after putting in a really good shift, with club captain Son Heung-min coming on.

22:19 CET - With half an hour left of the match, United just do not look like scoring. They are flat and tepid, and can't find any momentum at all.

22:13 CET - Nearly 10 minutes into the second half, and the game is following the same pattern as it did in the first. Cagey, nervy and just a lack of quality.

22:04 CET - We are back underway in Bilbao for the second half. No changes at the break for either side.

21:56 CET - Manchester United have now gone behind for the 31st game this season, more than any other Premier League side, and if that isn't bad enough, Opta have their chances of winning the final at 25% - is it time to see Alejandro Garnacho?

21:49 CET - Half-time in Bilbao and Spurs lead United 1-0 thanks to that goal from Brennan Johnson. It's been short of quality, so was the goal, but it is the Tottenham fans who are jubilant at the break. For Ruben Amorim, much to ponder.

21:46 CET - The goal has sparked Manchester United into life, Bruno Fernandes plays a lovely ball over the top, but the shot is blocked. Tottenham just want the half-time whistle now.

21:43 CET - LIFT OFF IN SAN MAMES! Tottenham Hotspur have the lead against Manchester United in the 41st minute, and it's Brennan Johnson. A Pepe Sarr ball from the left finds him in the box, and despite his best efforts, he manages to scramble it over the line. He won't care, no one supporting Spurs will, because his side lead the final!

Brennan Johnson has scored his fifth goal of the UEFA Europa League this season, no Tottenham Hotspur player has more.

21:38 CET - Mistakes aplenty for both sides in Bilbao, and those frustrations and nerves are spreading into the stands. Not long to go now until the break, and it feels like both managers need to make changes to find a spark.

21:36 CET - Amad Diallo is shown the first yellow card of the final after pulling back Richarlison with the Spurs forward on the break.

21:31 CET - Despite very little time on the ball, Amad Diallo looks the most dangerous for either side. He wriggles past Destiny Udogie into the box and forces a corner. It comes to nothing, but Manchester United would do well to get him on the ball more.

21:25 CET - Our first bit of respite in this game sees both sides unable to get full control of the ball with mistimed or inaccurate passes. Just one shot on target so far, that coming from Bruno Fernandes.

21:20 CET - The frenetic start to this game is best shown by this nice Opta insight, which shows Tottenham midfielder Pape Sarr is the only player yet to complete a pass in this game (2 attempted).

21:17 CET - It's another big sigh of relief for Vicario. He is unable to get to a corner from the left, allowing Amad Diallo to find space for a vicious shot that whistles past the far post. Defensively, it's easy to understand how these two have struggled in the Premier League this season.

21:14 CET - Richarlison involved again for Spurs as Manchester United fail to clear a free kick, leaving the Brazilian with a free shot from close range, but the United defence stands firm to get the block in. Still no real clear-cut chances, but a goal feels like it is on its way.

21:10 CET - This final will not be cagey, that's for sure. Both teams are flying forward in attack and Noussair Mazraoui does well to head a cross behind for a corner as Richarlison races in at the backpost. The atmosphere is certainly helping with the tempo, it's loud in San Mames.

21:07 CET - The most nervous person in the stadium seems to be Tottenham goalkeeper Vicario at the minute. He has two flaps in as many minutes, the second leading to a shot for Bruno Fernandes, but it is a weak hit that doesn't trouble Spurs. The Italian stopper breathes a sigh of relief.

21:05 CET - A fast tempo to this game early on, with both sides looking to get on the front foot. Spurs win the first corner of the game, but they concede a free-kick with a foul on Harry Maguire in the box. Let's hope for a little more quality, shall we?

21:01 CET - We are underway in Bilbao!

20:56 CET - The players are in the tunnel, the trophy has been paraded by Aritz Aduriz, and the rain falls in Bilbao. A typical English night for these two teams.

20:46 CET - Just under 15 minutes to go until the start of the final, and remember we have live audio coverage of the game - all you have to do is click the link above.

20:32 CET - Plenty of storylines with this game, but one of the underlying narratives surrounds the 'Spursy' curse. It's been nearly two decades since Tottenham have lifted a major trophy - discounting the 2019 Audi Cup. Could this be their time?

20:20 CET - History will be made tonight no matter what happens on the pitch, but we also have some before kick-off - with neither Manchester United or Tottenham able to finish any higher than 14th in the Premier League, tonight's UEFA Europa League final is the first major European final competed between teams who both finished outside of the top-10 in the league.

20:01 CET - Some interesting calls from both managers with their selections, but it should be Tottenham who are in a confident mood ahead of kick-off with their recent record over Manchester United.

Manchester United are looking for their first win in encounters between the two sides since October 2022. Spurs during that period have outscored United with 14 goals for and seven against.

19:48 CET - Here is the team news for the Europa League final.

As expected, Leny Yoro starts for Manchester United, but there are a few surprises in there too, with Alejandro Garnacho on the bench, whilst Amad Diallo starts for the Red Devils.

Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur have opted for a front three of Richarlison, Dominic Solanke and Brennan Johnson with Son Heung-Min on the bench.

19:45 CET - Team news imminent from San Mames, but plenty of bigwigs from the Manchester United boardroom in attendance tonight...

19:21 CET - "I always win something in my second year" - this has been the quote that has followed Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou around all season long.

It has been a tumultuous campaign for the Australian manager, struggling for any consistency in the league, whilst also fending off questions about his future.

Those questions are unlikely to go away even if his side go home with the trophy tonight, but at least the quote will still hold water.

Before the game, former Spurs star Gus Poyet had his say on Postecoglou, stating to Flashscore that he believes the Australian's time is up in North London if he is defeated in Bilbao.

19:12 CET - We are expecting team news in around 20 minutes' time from the Basque Country, but reports are suggesting that Leny Yoro will be in the starting XI for Manchester United. The French defender looks to have recovered well from an ankle injury that saw him miss their defeat to Chelsea on the weekend.

At 19 years and 189 days, Yoro is the second youngest player to start for Manchester United in a major European final, behind Brian Kidd on his 19th birthday in the 1968 European Cup final.

19:00 CET - It's been a long campaign, but the Europa League is down to its final two teams, and we are set for the final in the Basque Country. It is an all-English showpiece as the Premier League's 16th and 17th best sides meet to add some glory to what have been dismal seasons.

Manchester United have had to battle hard in the knockout rounds to make it this far. Under Ruben Amorim, they needed a last-minute extra-time goal from Harry Maguire to get past Lyon in the quarter-finals, whilst they saw off an Athletic Club fightback at Old Trafford to secure passage to the final.

Meanwhile, for Spurs, Ange Postecoglou's statement of 'always winning a trophy in his second season' has looked a forlorn mission for much of the year. But, the Europa League has given them some light amongst the darkness as they saw off the likes of Eintracht Frankfurt and Bodo/Glimt to book their flights to Spain.

Both sides have substantial support in the Basque Country for tonight's game, one that has been building throughout the last couple of days, and those in the ground for the 21:00 CET kick-off will know that this is do or die - 90 minutes from glory or despair.
