Brondby IF confirm on their website that French Ligue 1 outfit Olympique Lyon have signed the Danish Under-21 Danish international midfielder Noah Nartey

Nartey has played for Brondby since he joining the club at the age of 15. Five years later, he has established himself in the first team and as one of the very best players in the Superliga.

"I have learned that in Denmark there is a concept called 'timely care'. It is a concept that in many ways encapsulates the choice we have now made", says football director Benjamin Schmedes about the sale of Noah Nartey.

"I have made no secret of the fact that over the past several months we have mobilized everything we possibly could to extend Noah's contract. Without succeeding. This has left us with the clear choice between selling Noah now from a strong negotiating position or in the summer from a weaker position. We have - based on the size of the bid from Lyon - chosen to act at a time when we had the best possible cards in hand", continues Schmedes.

The total financial framework for the sale of Noah Nartey to Olympique Lyon is €10 million and consists of a fixed transfer fee of € 7.5 million and bonuses of up to € 2.5 million euros. The agreement also includes a resale clause of 20%.

"I would like to say a special thank you to the fans who have always been there for me. You have always supported me - in good and bad times - when I have played well and badly. You welcomed me and have supported me throughout my time at the club, and I really appreciate that. You have made my time at Brondby IF something very special", says Noah Nartey.
