Club CEO Ali Nazari Juybari announced the move on Instagram.
"Today, the official partnership between football legend Clarence Seedorf and Esteghlal FC began. A figure whose international experience from Milan to Ajax, Real Madrid and the Netherlands national team, will now serve to build a new future for Esteghlal," said Juybari.
"His entry as the club's sports advisor is not just a big name for us; it symbolises the beginning of a path that aims to align the technical structure of the club with scientific and modern standards."
After the Dutch icon ended his active footballing career at Brazilian side Botafogo, the 87-time international managed AC Milan, Shenzhen Xiangxue in China, Deportivo La Coruna in Spain, and the Cameroonian national team. Since 2023, the four-time UEFA Champions League winner has also been part of the Board of Directors of the Dutch KNVB.

"Clarence Seedorf will travel to Tehran soon and discuss the plans and vision of this cooperation in an official press conference," Juybari concluded.
Nine-time Persian Gulf Pro League winners Esteghlal were the first unbeaten champions when they won the league in 2022 after a nine-year drought, but currently sit in a disappointing eighth spot with two games remaining. The club were active in this year's AFC Champions League, but got knocked out by Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr in the round of 16.
