Arsenal have reportedly received an update on William Saliba’s injury following their clash with Liverpool, revealing how long the defender is expected to be sidelined.

Saliba, 24, played just five minutes in Arsenal’s 1-0 Premier League defeat to Liverpool before the international break.

The centre-back went off with what appeared to be an ankle injury, and now isn’t expected to return for three to four weeks, according to L’Equipe.

France manager Didier Deschamps recalled Benjamin Pavard to replace Saliba and is not expected to bring the Arsenal man back for their October internationals either.

Mikel Arteta is now likely to be without Saliba for Arsenal’s Premier League games against Nottingham Forest and Manchester City later in the month.
