Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has spoken to the media ahead of this weekend's clash with Manchester City.

Arsenal welcome Manchester City to Emirates Stadium on Sunday in what promises to be one of the biggest games of the season as the two title challengers meet for the first time since The Gunners won 5-1 last season.

Injury updates

Arteta first gave some injury updates and spoke on captain Martin Odegaard, Ben White and Bukayo Saka

"If there is a chance, it will be after tomorrow's session, as they haven't done anything yet," he said.

"Everything has been modified so far for them. Tomorrow we will have more information on if they're ready to be with the squad or not."

On head injuries for Viktor Gyokeres and Mikel Merino, Arteta said: "Yeah they are fine, they will be available."

And finally, on William Saliba: "Let's see he has been carrying an injury. He's really pushing it so we will decide tomorrow."

Guardiola is by far the best coach in the world

The Spanish head coach spoke on his compatriot and rival manager Pep Guardiola, whom he was full of praise for ahead of the clash.

"Well, the demand he puts on himself, the standards, the will to win. He always brings out the best in people. He is by far the best coach in the world, I have always said it," Arteta stated.

He then opened up on defender Cristhian Mosquera, whom he was given a chance to sign by sporting director Andre Berta this summer.

"He's very good... Someone extremely focused, very determined. (It was) very clear he wanted to come here, and come here to play," the manager said about his defender.

Finally, Arteta spoke on Arsenal's suicide prevention service, which will be open at The Arsenal Hub two hours before kick-off, during the match and two hours after full-time. No appointment is needed and fans have highly praised the service.

"First of all, I am very proud that the club takes the initiative and takes on a problem, a serious problem and gets a solution, a practical solution and creates a safe space," said Arteta.

"I think its incredible and hopefully more people can do the same."
