Another round of Premier League action has come to a close with the busy festive period now over ahead of FA Cup action next weekend - meaning it's time to see who makes Flashscore's Team of the Week.

Manchester City showed signs of a return to form with a 4-1 victory against West Ham while Liverpool and Manchester United played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at Anfield.

Elsewhere, Arsenal could only draw 1-1 away at Brighton, Crystal Palace held Chelsea to the same scoreline and Newcastle triumphed 2-1 against Tottenham Hotspur.

GK - Matz Sels, 7.9 (Nottingham Forest)

Matz Sels was on top form during Nottingham Forest's 3-0 win away at Wolves, ensuring his side kept a clean sheet as they secured a sixth consecutive win - seeing them move level on points with Arsenal in the league table.

The goalkeeper made an impressive six saves to seal a fourth clean sheet in a row; with Sels now proving himself as one of the best shot-stoppers in the divisions this season.

DEF - Matty Cash, 7.8 (Aston Villa)

Aston Villa got back to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Leicester on Saturday, with defender Matty Cash one of the standout performers.

Cash was exceptional at the back and also provided an offensive threat - making seven tackles and playing two key passes for his teammates.

DEF - Ibrahima Konate, 7.8 (Liverpool)

Liverpool will be disappointed with their 2-2 draw against fierce rivals Manchester United but one positive was the solid showing of returning Ibrahima Konate who had missed the previous eight games through injury.

The Frenchman was solid defensively and made a mammoth nine clearances as well as three blocks and three interceptions.

Konate also won eight out of nine duels against a surprisingly competitive United side.

DEF - Milos Kerkez, 8.1 (Bournemouth)

One of the Premier League's top-performing left-backs this season has been Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez, who was on form again in the Cherries' 1-0 win against Everton.

Kerkez provided the all-important assist for Bournemouth's winner after delivering a superb cross into the area for David Brooks to volley home.

He also proved to be reliable at the back with two tackles, three interceptions and one clearance.

MID - Ethan Nwaneri, 8.1 (Arsenal)

Arsenal youngster Ethan Nwaneri has caught the eye in recent weeks and continued his strong run of form with a goal in the Gunners' 1-1 draw with Brighton.

The 17-year-old finished emphatically past goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen, curling an effort into the bottom corner after being played in behind the opposition defence.

Nwaneri was unlucky to pick up an injury later in the match and will be sidelined for a few weeks - although Arsenal now know they have another reliable attacker to call upon when he returns.

MID - Ross Barkley, 8.3 (Aston Villa)

Ross Barkley got on the scoresheet in Villa's win over Everton, converting from the edge of the area with an excellent low drive into the bottom corner.

He also provided some good defensive cover with three tackles and three interceptions in what turned out to be an excellent all-round performance from the midfielder.

Barkley's 8.3 Flashscore rating was the highest of any player at Villa Park on Saturday.

MID - Bruno Fernandes, 8.2 (Manchester United)

Another top performer over the weekend was Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes, who returned from suspension for the Red Devils' 2-2 draw with Liverpool.

United's captain grabbed an assist for Lisandro Martinez's opener, playing a well-weighted pass through the opposition defence for the Argentine to latch on to.

He also had a superb attacking influence on the match with another four key passes and three successful dribbles - proving that he still has plenty to offer in the Premier League.

MID - Savinho, 8.1 (Manchester City)

Manchester City winger Savinho has enjoyed an upturn in form in the last week with a goal against Leicester and then an excellent showing in the Cityzens' 4-1 win over West Ham.

The winger set up two goals at the Etihad and caused trouble for the Hammers' defence throughout the match with three key passes and two successful dribbles.

Savinho suffered a slow start to life in Manchester but now appears to be blossoming into a reliable attacking option for Pep Guardiola's team.

FWD - Bryan Mbeumo, 9.4 (Brentford)

The weekend's top performer by some distance was Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo, who picked up two goals and an assist in the Bees' 5-0 win away at Southampton.

Mbeumo has been on of the league's top attackers this season and continued his fine form over the weekend with the Cameroonian's performance earning him a 9.4 Flashscore rating.

FWD - Raul Jimenez, 8.4 (Fulham)

Raul Jimenez bagged a brace in Fulham's 2-2 draw against Ipswich after converting twice from the penalty spot to ensure the Cottagers came away with a point and stretched their unbeaten run to eight matches.

Fulham were behind twice in the match but leaned on the reliable Jimenez to emphatically slot away two penalties.

The forward also established himself as the all-time leading Mexican goalscorer in the Premier League, overtaking Javier Hernandez in the scoring charts.

FWD - Phil Foden, 8.1 (Manchester City)

Manchester City forward Phil Foden has struggled this season but was back to his best during the win against West Ham.

The Englishman rounded off the scoring with a routine finish late in the second half but was impressive throughout - making two key passes and maintaining an 89% pass accuracy.

City have been far from their best in recent months but look to be getting back on track and will need Foden to be on top form in order to make a push for a top-four finish.
