Jayden Addai scored a 94th-minute winner as Como came from behind to beat Fiorentina 2-1 at Stadio Artemio Franchi, keeping La Viola winless in Serie A this season and level on points with the relegation zone.

Not only slow starters in terms of the campaign, Fiorentina had been laboured out of the traps, failing to score before the hour mark in each of their previous four matches across all competitions.

Rolando Mandragora emphatically put an end to that streak in the sixth minute though, rifling home a volley into the bottom corner on the rebound from his own free-kick.

Also influential, Moise Kean threatened to add to that lead when he drove straight at the heart of the Como defence, but he failed to keep his down and it sailed over the bar.

The visitors began to gain a foothold on proceedings as the first half progressed, but creating clear-cut chances was proving difficult.

Alvaro Morata failed to trouble countryman David de Gea when firing over, before Nico Paz fired straight at the Fiorentina stopper.

Manager Cesc Fabregas was left exasperated in stoppage time by a VAR decision to overturn a penalty awarded for a foul on Maximo Perrone, with the contact deemed to have started outside the box.

That ensured that Como trailed at the break, and with just one of their previous eight games producing over 2.5 goals, a second-half comeback looked unlikely.

But they re-emerged on the front foot regardless, and only another trademark De Gea save, which saw him tip Sergi Roberto’s rasping effort over the bar, kept the Lariani in arrears.

There was nothing the former Manchester United goalkeeper could do on 65 minutes, however, when Nico Paz’s inviting free-kick from the left was powerfully headed home by Marc-Oliver Kempf for his first-ever Como goal.

Momentum was firmly with the visitors in the closing stages, and Jesus Rodriguez was the first to go close to putting them in front when he cut in from the left and curled wide of the target.

De Gea then got down to his right to keep out a venomous drive from Paz, but he was beaten at his near post at the death by Addai.

It was something of a fitting end for the visitors, as the Dutchman, who had been influential since coming off the bench, worked his magic to cut in from the right and rifle in his first Como goal.

The visitors duly snatched just a second win in six Sunday-held away league games since gaining promotion last year, while Fiorentina boss Stefano Pioli finds himself under pressure after suffering a third successive home Serie A defeat across his two tenures.
