OB have signed the former Bayern Munich striker Jann-Fiete Arp on a three-year contract.

Six years ago, striker Jann-Fiete  Arp was one of the hottest names in German football, and Bayern Munich didn't hesitate to secure the services of the talented striker.

However, Arp's breakthrough did not materialize, and he moved on to Holstein Kiel in 2021. Now he will seek to recover his earlier form in Odene for the next three years.

The Funen club wrote on Monday on its website that Fiete Arp will be the new number seven on the team.

"Fiete Arp has been one of Germany's more eye-catching talents for several years", says OB sports director Troels Bech to the club's website.

"He has been through a time where he has lacked the last stability in featuring regularly. But we now hope that he can find a place where he can recover the rhythm in his game."

The now 25-year-old striker is a product of HSV's youth department and received a lot of attention, when he broke through at the senior level.

After moving to Bayern Munich as a teenager, he only made a single appearance for the German giants, who otherwise primarily gave him playing time in the second team.

In 2021, he went out on loan to Holstein Kiel, who later signed a permanent contract with Fiete Arp. Fiete Arp played 95 matches and scored 11 goals for Holstein Kiel, with whom he was promoted for the Bundesliga two years ago.

"I am a player who wants to be part of the decisive moments in a match. I am a creative player who is good at the quick transition game, and I like to work to get the ball," says Fiete Arp to ob.dk.

Fiete Arp's German compatriot Alexander Zorniger recently took over as head coach at the Odense-club.
