The 21-year old Mexican winger from FC Copenhagen, Roberto Huesca's, explained in Danish court today that if he will be deported from Denmark as a consequence of his reckless driving in the centre of Copenhagen, it could have severe implications for his career.

The prosecution is seeking to have FC Copenhagen's Mexican winger Rodrigo Huescas deported from Denmark after he has been charged with reckless driving.

Huescas was allegedly driving at 111 km/h in a 50 km/h zone at Kalvebod Brygge in a central part of Copenhagen.

Until now it was expected that he could be sentenced to 20 days in prison without parole. But now there is a potential much harsher punishment in play as he could be deported from Denmark. In addition the prosecutor wants an entry ban of at least four years.

In court today it was revealed that Rodrigo Huescas had not had his Mexican driving license exchanged for a Danish one when he was speeding at Kalvebod Brygge. He therefore did not have a valid driving license.

Huescas said through an interpreter that he regretted his actions and that he had learned a lot from the incident.

Huescas explained that he was not aware that there was a speed limit of 50 kilometers per hou and said that apart from losing his contract with FC Copenhagen, he would also lose his sponsorship with Adidas and would be excluded from representing the Mexican national team.

Huescas will receive his sentence next Monday.

Rodrigo Huescas joined FC Copenhagen ahead of the current season and was used regularly as right back during the autumn.

After it emerged that he was due in court for reckless driving, FCK allowed him to continue playing, and he has made a total of 29 appearances during the season.
