The 21-year-old winger played a key role as Brighton & Hove Albion condemned Pep Guardiola's Man City to their second defeat of the season following a 2-1 win at the American Express Stadium.
Minteh, who was substituted in the 90th minute for Diego Coppola, is leading the Scorpions national team for their matchday seven fixture against Kenya.
Gambia, under former Gor Mahia coach Johnathan McKinstry, held a light training session at Kasarani Annexe on Tuesday, to shake off jetlag in readiness for their Group F fixture.
Gambia in Kenya to win the game
According to Minteh, who has so far made three Premier League appearances for the Seagulls, the Scorpions have put their focus on bagging maximum points from the battle before their matchday eight fixture against Burundi.
“It is a good feeling to be in Kenya. I have never been here before, but I love the environment. We are here to win the game, but we know it is going to be a difficult one because Kenya will enjoy the home advantage,” Minteh told Flashscore.
“It is always good to give 100 percent, it doesn’t matter if you are playing for your team, national team or not, so if you want to be on the top level, you have to perform in every game, this game is going to motivate me, and I think it is going to be a good game for me and team.”
He added: “Kenya is a difficult team, we already played against them and I know how it feels to play against Kenya, so we are here to win the game and see what happens.”

Asked how he feels to play alongside forward Musa Barrow, who features for Saudi Pro League club Al Taawoun, Minteh said: “Yeah, to play with Musa (Barrow) is very easy, because he makes everything look very easy for you, he is an experienced player, and he likes to play with young players.”
He continued: “Adama (Sidibe) is also a good striker, a perfect finisher, if you put the ball in front of him, he can do everything to score, he is a good player, and all of them are equally good players.”
On what coach McKinstry has told the players ahead of the must-win game, Minteh revealed: “He told us how important the game is, because we have a big chance to qualify for the World Cup, so the most important thing is to win our next matches against Kenya and Burundi.”
Minteh stressed: “But the most important one now is the Kenya game because the Burundi game is far away from now, so we have to focus on the Kenya game.
“He (McKinstry) further told us what he knows about Kenya, so I think we can use that as a weapon against them. Our approach is very important, and it is an important game for Gambia, although it is going to be a very difficult one.
“Kenya have the home advantage, as I said earlier, and they have their fans behind them, so it is not going to be easy, we know that, and we need to be prepared for the game.”
The first game between Kenya and Gambia produced a 3-3 draw, with Minteh finding the back of the net while Borrow grabbed a brace. Gambia are currently sitting fifth with four points accumulated from one win, one draw, and four defeats.
The top team in each group will qualify directly for the World Cup, the second round will pit the four best runners-up in two one-off semi-finals, followed by a final. The winner of this second round will participate in the FIFA Play-Off Tournament.
