Silas Andersen, arrived in Lisbon on Friday night and on Saturday underwent the required medical and physical tests, both in Lisbon and at the Cristiano Ronaldo Academy, which he passed with flying colors.
On Tuesday, the 21-year-old midfielder was officially presented as the fourth signing for Sporting for the 2026/2027 season, following Rodrigo Zalazar (SC Braga), Pedro Lima (AFS), and Issa Doumbia (Venezia).
In his first words as a Lion, the Dane gave his initial impressions of the club and the Portuguese capital, also explaining why he decided to make the move to Alvalade.
"The city is very beautiful and I’ve already been to the Cristiano Ronaldo Academy, which also looks really good", he began by saying.
"Sporting CP play in European competitions every year, they are back in the Champions League, and it’s a fantastic step for young players to grow. (Playing in the Champions League) is something I have dreamt about since childhood. It’s something players aspire to, and what I can say is that it’s fantastic to have the chance to take this step and play against the best teams in the world", he added.
The Dane also gave an assessment of his own qualities and commented on Sporting’s other midfield signings.
"I like to run with the ball, score from corners, be dangerous, and help the team play forward", he said.

"We’ve already signed some midfielders and we have pre-season to get to know each other. When the season starts, we’ll be ready to represent this great club".
Silas Andersen cost Sporting 7.25 million euros, in a transfer that could reach 10 million, with 2.75 million in add-ons.
After the presentation, the Danish midfielder will leave Lisbon for a short holiday before returning to Alcochete, where he is due to report on 30 June
