After using our internal rating system, these are the 11 players that made our team of the week:

Goalkeeper
Benjamin Lecomte (Montpellier) 8.7
Bottom-of-the-table Montpellier stunned high-flying Monaco in Ligue 1 on Friday, and they largely had goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte to thank.
The Frenchman was utterly magnificent between the sticks, making 10 saves from 11 shots on goal and keeping Monaco at bay.
It was Montpellier's first win in eight games across all competitions and moved them within five points from safety.
Defenders
Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool) 8.5
Liverpool must have been feeling a little bit of pressure at the top of the Premier League after drawing four of their last seven games. Against Brentford, the Reds looked to be heading towards another one, before Darwin Nunez stepped up with a late brace.
For his first goal, a lot of credit has to go to Trent Alexander-Arnold, who was persistent on the right wing before putting in a cross for the Uruguayan to tap in. He was also a constant creative thorn in the side of Brentford.
There has been a lot of speculation about the right-back's future with Real Madrid keen on signing him. But there is little doubt that Liverpool will need their player to be fully focused and at his best if they want to compete across multiple fronts.
Josip Sutalo (Ajax) 8.6
Ajax continue to hunt down PSV at the top of the Eredivisie, now sitting just one point behind the defending champions after a 2-0 win at Heerenveen.
Centre-back Josip Sutalo was the star of the show, scoring a header for his side while also putting in a rock-solid performance at the back after returning from illness.
With four interceptions and six clearances, there was just no way past the Croatian international.
Mats Rots (Heracles) 8.7
Heracles eased their relegation fears in the Eredivisie after battling to a hard-earned 2-0 triumph over Almere City on Sunday - a victory which moved them four points clear of the relegation playoff spot.
Left-back Mats Rots produced a superb all-round display for his side, netting the all-important opener with a stunning strike from range after running deep from inside his own half.
Midfielders
Filip Krastev (Zwolle) 9.3
Filip Krastev played a starring role for his side as Zwolle ended their five-game winless run with a well-deserved 3-1 victory over league leaders PSV.
The 23-year-old Bulgarian found the net with two clinical strikes in the first half to give his team the early momentum before setting up Zwolle's third late on - completing a memorable performance.

Cameron Puertas (Al Qadisiya) 9.1
It was a seventh win in eight Saudi Pro League matches for Al Qadisiya as the third-placed team eased past relegation-threatened Al Wehda 3-0.
Having already scored a couple of goals in the King Cup this season, Cameron Puertas netted his first in the league with a powerful close-range strike shortly before half-time.
Leandro Barreiro (Benfica) 9.3
Leandro Barreiro ended his 13-game run without a goal in style on Friday night, bagging a superb hat-trick in Benfica's emphatic 4-0 triumph over Famalicao.
The Luxembourg international was at the heart of everything good for the title-chasing Eagles, completing his treble with a neat finish at the back post halfway through the second half.
Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkusen) 9.4
Florian Wirtz's remarkable season for Xabi Alonso's Leverkusen shows no signs of slowing down, with the German midfielder producing yet another match-winning display against Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday.
The 21-year-old set the tone with a brilliant opening goal before doubling his tally and registering an assist in the second half to keep Die Werkself within touching distance of Bayern Munich at the Bundesliga summit.

Forwards
Phil Foden (Manchester City) 9.8
After being named the Premier League player of the season for the 2023/24 campaign, Phil Foden endured a really tough EURO 2024, and he also started the new season looking a shadow of his best.
Manchester City's form was equally poor in the last few months. However, their form has started to get better, and Foden's performances have also improved. Against relegation-threatened Ipswich on the weekend, the Englishman put on a masterclass, scoring twice as well as picking up an assist.
City will be hoping that it isn't a temporary thing and Foden really has found his feet once more, with clashes against PSG, Chelsea and Arsenal all coming up.
Justin Kluivert (Bournemouth) 9.5
Earlier this season, Justin Kluivert bagged a Premier League hat-trick - but all three goals came from the penalty spot. Against Newcastle on the weekend, Kluivert scored a spectacular hat-trick without a single penalty - just for good measure.
It was a scintillating performance from the Dutchman, with his third goal of the game being the highlight as he smashed the ball into the back of the Newcastle net from long range.
Bournemouth's fantastic 4-1 victory over Newcastle was a magnificent result, and in the process, ended the Magpies' nine-match winning run.

Mattia Zaccagni (Lazio) 9.5
Lazio clinched a straightforward 3-0 win over Verona on the weekend, and Italian winger Mattia Zaccagni led the way for his side.
Zaccagni put in the corner for his side's opening goal, before putting a seal on the contest in the 58th minute with a deflected finish against his former club.
Lazio remain in fourth in Serie A and returned to winning ways after three matches without a triumph.
