Australian Open LIVE: Sinner and Fritz through in Melbourne, Djokovic and Swiatek in action

The third-round action continues at the Australian Open today, with Jannik Sinner, Iga Swiatek and Novak Djokovic among the headline names taking to the court.

10:40 CET - In the final match at the Australian Open for fan favourite and former Grand Slam champion Stan Warwinka, the Swiss veteran put up a fight against ninth seed Taylor Fritz but ultimately fell short.

American Fritz far from had it all his own way but his higher ranking and youthful energy saw him through in the end, winning 7-6 (5), 2-6, 6-4, 6-4.

10:15 CET - Some sad breaking news to bring you as former Australian Open winner Naomi Osaka has pulled out of her match against Maddison Inglis due to a calf injury. We wish Osaka a speedy recovery, and her eye-catching outfits will be missed!

07:15 CET - Ben Shelton is enjoying himself in the Australian heat so far and has yet to drop a set after cruising to a 6-4, 6-4, 7-6 (5) victory over Valentin Vacherot and booking a fourth-round spot.

06:10 CET - Jannik Sinner was really made to work in his encounter with Eliot Spizzirri, coming from a set down to top the American 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 6-4.

The two-time defending champion had an uncharacteristic performance in the match, hitting a whopping 51 unforced errors. Still, it proved to be just enough for him to move on in the torunament.

05:10 CET - A cracking five-set encounter goes the way of Lorenzo Musetti, who edges Tomas Machac 5-7, 6-4. 6-2, 5-7, 6-2. The fifth seed won 73% of his first serve points, which played a role in him being able to advance.

04:40 CET - Play has been paused on the outer courts due to extreme heat in Melbourne. The courts with the retractable roofs are able to continue upon the closing of the roof.

04:10 CET - The 22nd seed Luciano Darderi moves into the second week in Melbourne after the Italian prevailed against Karen Khachanov 7-6 (5), 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. Hitting 19 aces, Darderi did enough to win the last two sets and make the fourth round.

03:30 CET - Amanda Anisimova is into the next round at the Australian Open thanks to a straight set win over Peyton Stearns. The match, which ended 6-1, 6-4 in the fourth seed's favour, lasted 72 minutes as Anisimova made the most of five of her chances to break.

02:00 CET - Madison Keys booked her place in the last 16 thanks to a 6-3, 6-3 defeat of Karolina Pliskova. The defending champion converted four of her nine break point opportunities, paving the way to her 10th successive win down under.

01:50 CET - Jessica Pegula makes it through to the fourth round after a fairly straightforward 6-3, 6-2 victory over Oksana Selekhmeteva. The sixth seed lost just three of her first serve points, as she managed to get the job done in just over an hour.

22:30 CET - Good evening and welcome back to our Tennis Tracker on what is already Day Seven of the Australian Open!

The third round resumes in a couple of hours at 00:30 CET, with defending women’s champion Madison Keys facing former world number one Karolina Pliskova, while Jannik Sinner, Amanda Anisimova, Jessica Pegula and Lorenzo Musetti are also in early action.

Later on, in the night session, 10-time former champion Novak Djokovic comes up against Botic van de Zandschulp at around 09:00 CET, while second seed Iga Swiatek takes on Anna Kalinskaya.

Elsewhere, Elena Rybakina, Taylor Fritz, Naomi Osaka and Casper Ruud also take to the court, looking to seal their place in the second week of the tournament.
