Strong opposition awaits the Danish women's national tennis team, when they travel to Mexico in November to meet Canada, ranked 5th in the world and the home team Mexico in the battle for a place in the Qualifiers.

The Danish women's national tennis team will travel to Mexico in November, where they will face host country Mexico and Canada in the Billie Jean King Cup Play-Offs. It was decided by the draw, which took place on Thursday at the International Tennis Federation (ITF) in London.

The matches will be played from the 14th-16th. November in Mexico's Monterrey at Club Sonama's outdoor hardcourt courts. The winner of the group secures access to the Billie Jean King Cup Qualifiers in 2026. The other two teams are relegated to the regional Group I.

In April, the Danish team played at the second highest level in the world's largest women's national team tournament, where they met the USA and Slovakia in the Qualifiers. After defeat in both matches, the team now has the chance to return top that level via the Play-Offs.

However, it is two strong nations that await the Danish team, which is currently ranked 26th in the world.

Canada is currently number five in the world rankings, and is the highest ranked nation in the draw with profiles like Leylah Fernandez (WTA: 30) and the 18-year-old Victoria Mboko (WTA: 95), who have stormed up the rankings this year.

Host country Mexico is number 20 on the ITF's national list. The Mexicans have Renata Zarazua (WTA: 75) as their current best player in the world ranking. Giuliana Olmos is number 48 in the world in doubles. Denmark beat Mexico last November at home in the Farum Arena.

Billie Jean King Cup captain Jens Anker Andersen is looking forward to the matches.

"We are looking forward to going to Monterrey and giving everything we have. Canada is a strong tennis nation with world-class players, and Mexico have home court advantage. But we showed in November that we can beat them. We believe in our own strengths. We have shown before that we can surprise, and we are determined to win the group," says Jens Anker Andersen.
