Arantxa Rus has officially withdrawn from the Dutch Billie Jean King Cup squad, the Dutch tennis association announced.

The Netherlands will meet Germany and Great Britain in The Hague next week, with qualification for the Billie Jean King Cup Finals at stake.

34-year-old Rus withdrew from the squad to prioritise singles tournaments and playing for a spot at the French Open. "The Hague is my hometown, and I would love to play with the team in front of the Dutch crowd," said Rus on the website of the Dutch tennis association. "But I unfortunately have to make this choice and put my personal career above the team."

91st-ranked Rus will be replaced by Eva Vedder, who will join Anouk Koevermans, Suzan Lamens, and double specialist Demi Schuurs.
