The last-16 in Cincinnati begins today, with some weather-delayed matches from last night also needing to resume. World number ones Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka headline the action.

07:15 CET - One final result from last night to bring you, as Anna Kalinskaya showed brilliant mental strength to come back from a set down, edge a second set tiebreak and then dominate the third set to defeat fellow Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova 3-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-1.

04:40 CET - Alexander Zverev advances to the quarter-finals after Karen Khachanov retires in the second set (7-5, 3-0) due to fatigue.

04:30 CET - Andrey Rublev makes quick work of Francisco Comesana, defeating the Argentinian 6-2, 6-3 in just 65 minutes.

04:20 CET - Carlos Alcaraz continues to show everyone why he's one of the best after defeating Luca Nardi 6-1, 6-4. That's now 14 straight match wins for the world's No. 2.

03:10 CET - Elena Rybakina knocks Madison Keys out of Cincinnati after coming back from a first set loss 6-7, 6-4, 6-2.

02:50 CET - In a stunning upset, Terence Atmane defeats the world No. 4 Taylor Fritz 3-6, 7-5, 6-3. Atmane is now the lowest-ranked (No. 136) men's player to advance to the quarter-finals in Cincinnati since Borna Coric (No. 152) - who eventually went on to win the whole tournament in 2022.

02:43 CET - Aryna Sabalenka earns her 50th win of the year after defeating Jessica Bouzas Maneiro 6-1, 7-5. This is now Sabalenka's fourth straight Cincinnati quarter-finals appearance, fifth in her career.

01:35 CET - Felix Auger-Aliassime advances to his third career quarter-finals in Cincinnati after defeating Benjamin Bonzi in straight sets 6-4, 6-3

This is now Auger-Aliassime's 10th career Masters quarter-finals.

00:32 CET - The world's No. 1 Jannik Sinner advances to his 16th Masters quarter-finals after beating Adrian Mannarino 6-4, 7-6 in Cincinnati.

00:20 CET - Coming off his Toronto title, Ben Shelton continues to roll by taking down Roberto Bautista-Agut in straight sets 7-6, 6-3

00:13 CET - After returning to play, Veronika Kudermetova defeats Clara Tauson 3-6, 7-6, 6-4

23:43 CET - Right then, players are heading back onto the court, it looks like proceedings are getting back underway!

22:29 CET - The courts are currently being dried, and the sun is coming out in Cincinnati. Hopefully, play will be able to resume soon.

21:12 CET - Play has been halted in Cincinnati as the heavens have opened and the rain is coming down hard.

19:33 CET - Jessica Pegula may have hoped that she would have more luck today after her match with Magda Linette was postponed last night with the score locked level. However, it was Linette who came out on top in the final set, stunning her American opponent 7-6(5), 3-6, 6-3.

19:14 CET - Needing just a single game to win after his match was postponed last night, Alexander Zverev finished the job in a matter of minutes today, easing past Brandon Nakashima to move into the last 16, 6-4, 6-4.

18:50 CET - Over on the women's side, Iga Swiatek has cruised through to the quarter-finals in typically dominant fashion with a 6-3, 6-4 victory against Sorana Cirstea.

18:28 CET - Holger Rune is the first winner of the day in Cincinnati after his opponent, Frances Tiafoe, unfortunately had to retire from their clash with the Dane leading 6-4, 3-1. As a result, Rune is into the quarter-finals.

16:40 CET - There are also some of the world's best male players in action this evening, including none other than world number one Jannik Sinner.

Up first, though, from 17:00 CET is a fascinating heavyweight clash between home favourite and 10th seed Frances Tiafoe and seventh seed Holger Rune.

Other top seeds in action are Ben Shelton, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Taylor Fritz and world number two Carlos Alcaraz

14:35 CET - Hello and welcome to the last-16 at Cincinnati as we reach the business end of this ATP and WTA 1000 event.

Two matches need to be concluded this evening after a lightning threat forced play to be suspended last night.

Alexander Zverev was one game away from victory in his match against Brandon Nakashima before he was forced to stop playing, but you would expect him to serve that match out when play restarts today.

On the women's side, fourth seed Jessica Pegula forced a deciding set against Magda Linette, and that match will be decided with a final set shootout this evening.

Before those matches resume, the last-16 gets underway with Iga Swiatek as the Wimbledon champion taking on Sorana Cirstea.

Later in the evening is a fascinating clash between Elena Rybakina and Maddison Keys. Other big names in action are world number one Aryna Sabalenka, Clara Tauson and Ekaterina Alexandrova.
