10:55 CET - Jesper De Jong has pulled off somewhat of an upset to win a thrilling encounter 4-6, 7-6 (7-2), 6-4 against rising star Jakub Mensik to progress in Shanghai.
10:20 CET - Eighth seed Lorenzo Musetti has also won in Shanghai, with the Italian defeating Francisco Comesana 6-4, 6-0.
10:15 CET - Back to Shanghai, and Alexander Zverev has booked his spot in the third round after a comfortable 6-4, 6-4 victory against Valentin Royer.
10:10 CET - Amanda Anisimova has utterly destroyed Coco Gauff in under an hour to book her place in the Beijing final. It was a dominant display from the US Open finalist as her lethal backhand proved too hot for Gauff to handle, and despite a late reprieve from the world number three, Anisimova held on to win 6-1, 6-2.
09:50 CET - Denis Shapovalov has avoided such an upset however after the big-hitting Canadian showed his class to down Christopher O'Connell 6-3, 6-2.
Arthur Rinderknech joins the Canadian in the third round with a dominant 6-3, 6-4 win against Alex Michelsen.
08:40 CET - The first big shock of the day comes from 13th seed Andrey Rublev being knocked out in his first match in Shanghai. World number 173 Yoshihito Nishioka came from a set down to win a three-set thriller 2-6, 6-1, 6-4 to stun the Russian.
08:15 CET - A group of matches have finished around the same time in Shanghai as one of the tournament favourites Alex De Minaur, Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime and exciting young Czech Jiri Lehecka have all booked a spot in the third round.
07:50 CET - The first winner of the day in Shanghai comes from Polish player Kamil Majchrzak, who has won 6-4, 6-0 against Brandon Nakashima.

Play is already underway in Shanghai as round two continues. The standout match currently ongoing sees 12th seed Felix Auger-Aliassime face a rejuvenated Alejandro Tabilo.
