It's the first day of the fourth round at the Australian Open and among those looking to seal a spot in the quarter-finals are Novak Djokovic (37), Carlos Alcaraz (21), Aryna Sabalenka (26) and Coco Gauff (20).

14:55 CET - That's all for today's tennis from the Australian Open, we now know half the quarter-finalists on both the men's and women's sides. Tune in again later this evening as the fourth round continues in Melbourne.

13:32 CET - Novak Djokovic (37) refused to give an on-court interview after his win today, saying that he wouldn't be doing so until he receives an apology from one of the tournament's Australian broadcasters after one of their presenters - in Djokovic's view - "made a mockery of Serbian fans and also made insulting and offensive comments towards me."

11:56 CET - For the 15th time, Novak Djokovic (37) is into the final eight of the Australian Open with the Serb beating Jiri Lechecka (23) 6-3, 6-4, 7-6.

Djokovic is playing very well in Melbourne but he'll have to be even better in the next round because Carlos Alcaraz (21) waits for him there. What a quarter-final match-up that is.

10:32 CET - World number three Alexander Zverev (27) is through to the quarter-finals thanks to a 6-1, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 win over Ugo Humbert (26). Next up for the German is Tommy Paul (27), who he's never beaten.

09:57 CET - It's turning into a day for the favourites with Zverev winning the third set 6-3 in his match and Djokovic taking a 6-3 lead; the Serb is looking very comfortable.

09:18 CET - We have a match on our hands on the John Cain Arena with Ugo Humbert (26) winning the second set 6-2 to level things up with Alexander Zverev (27).

08:52 CET - Can Novak Djokovic (37) set up a mouthwatering clash with Carlos Alcaraz (21)? The Serb is taking to the court as we speak to face young Czech talent Jiri Lehecka (23).

In the other remaining fourth-round match of the day, Alexander Zverev (27) is 6-1, 2-2 up on Ugo Humbert (26).

07:44 CET - Jack Draper (23) has unfortunately had to retire while trailing Carlos Alcaraz (21) 7-5, 6-1 due to an injury, meaning the Spaniard is into the last eight.

07:15 CET - Tommy Paul (27) is the first man into the quarter-finals with the American beating Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (25) 6-1, 6-1, 6-1.

Carlos Alcaraz (21) is now on court and leading Jack Draper (23) 7-5, 4-1.

05:37 CET - Coco Gauff (20) hangs on in three sets by beating former Olympic champion Belinda Bencic (27) 5-7, 6-2, 6-1 to advance to her seventh Grand Slam quarter-final. Gauff is now 9-0 this year and has won 22 of her last 24 matches. She will face Badosa on Tuesday.

05:30 CET - Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (33) just defeated Donna Vekic (28) 7-6, 6-0 to advance to her first Grand Slam quarter-final since 2023 and fourth-ever Australian Open quarter-final. She has had a rough ride recently after battling back from injuries but is now one step closer to possibly winning her first AO title.

Unfortunately, Vekic's struggle during the second set could be credited to taking a medical timeout to deal with a knee injury she sustained during the previous tiebreak; she only had one break point and two game points.

05:17 CET - Paula Badosa (27) beats Olga Danilovic (23) after coming back from down 2-5 in the second set to force a tiebreak before taking home the win in straight sets 6-1, 7-6(2). Badosa will reach the quarter-finals at the Australian Open for the first time in her career, marking her third Grand Slam quarter-final ever.

02:40 CET - Aryna Sabalenka just dominated her match against Mirra Andreeva, winning in straight sets 6-1, 6-2. Sabalenka is now the youngest woman since Serena Williams (2002-2004) to win 18 consecutive Grand Slam matches (hard courts).

Sabalenka has now won 23 consecutive sets at the Australian Open and is advancing to her third straight AO quarter-finals.
