The second set saw Alcaraz stun Sinner in the Italian's first service game but the world number two responded brilliantly to break back almost instantly. After that, the second set took a similar trajectory to the first as both players dominated on serve.

That was until Sinner found the level he produced in the first set tiebreak to break Alcaraz and claim a stunning 7-6 (4), 7-5 victory.

A thrilling final that delivered almost all it promised.

Carlos Alcaraz's level dropped just slightly in the tiebreak but when the margins are so tight, that is all it takes. A thrilling final so far, though.

One befitting of this great new rivalry.

12:00 CET - Good morning and welcome back to the Tennis Tracker, as the ATP Tour season gets the fitting conclusion it deserves.

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are by far and away the best two players in the world, and they meet for a sixth time this year - all in finals - to see who captures the ATP Finals crown.

Alcaraz made light work of Felix Auger-Aliassime in the semi-finals with a truly stunning display, and leads the head-to-head with Sinner 10-5. This year, he has won four of their five meetings, including at the French Open and US Open.

The Spaniard will be looking to improve his 71-8 record this season, as well as pick up a whopping ninth title of the year.

However, Sinner is a different animal on indoor hard courts. The Italian is on a 30-match winning streak in these conditions, is the defending champion, and hasn't dropped a set or been broken all week. He will also have the Turin crowd roaring him on.

His only victory over Alcaraz this year came in the Wimbledon final, but he should have got over the line at Roland Garros after squandering three match points.

All signs point to another blockbuster between these two superstars.

The singles final begins at 18:00 CET, while the doubles title match gets underway at 15:00 CET with three Brits in action, as Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski meet Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten.
