US Open final matches

We’ve got a mouthwatering women’s final on Saturday night as top seed and defending champion Aryna Sabalenka takes on home favourite Amanda Anisimova under the lights of the Arthur Ashe Stadium.

After seamless progression through the tournament, Sabalenka and Anisimova were tested in the semi-finals, but both proved their nerve with impressive comeback victories over Jessica Pegula and Naomi Osaka, respectively, setting up a 10th career meeting.

The Belarusian might be considered a marginal favourite to defend her crown, but eighth seed Anisimova leads the head-to-head 6-3, including a thrilling three-set win in the Wimbledon semi-finals just a couple of months ago.

Meanwhile, on the men’s side of the tournament, there are a couple of huge semi-finals to look forward to on Friday evening, with defending champion Jannik Sinner facing a resurgent Felix Auger-Aliassime and second seed Carlos Alcaraz taking on 24-time major winner Novak Djokovic.

While the smart money is on a third consecutive Grand Slam final between Sinner and Alcaraz, Djokovic has won his last two matches against the Spaniard and Auger-Aliassime holds a surprising 2-1 head-to-head advantage over the Italian top seed.

Both semi-finals certainly promise to be fascinating encounters, and with plenty on the line heading into the final few months of the season and the ATP Finals, you won’t want to miss out on the drama!

Italian Grand Prix - 15:00 CET

For the 16th race of the season, Formula 1 is heading to Monza, a circuit that produces one of the best atmospheres and some of the best racing on the calendar.

That atmosphere is created by Ferrari's diehard fans, the Tifosi, and Lewis Hamilton will be desperate to put his struggles behind him and give them something to cheer for in his first Italian Grand Prix since joining the Scuderia. He can overcome his grid penalty and do so, it could really kickstart his Ferrari career.

Winning in Monza for the second year in a row will be a tall order for the home team though, with McLaren likely to dominate as they have done all season. If Oscar Piastri can get them the victory rather than Lando Norris, he'll extend his lead over his teammate to 41 points at the least, so the pressure is really on the Brit.

With the home crowd also having a driver of their own - Kimi Antonelli - in a top car for the first time in years and the huge straight allowing for more overtakes than most tracks, this race should provide plenty in the way of entertainment.

Turkey vs Spain - 20:45 CET

In what is probably the standout World Cup qualifying fixture in Europe during this international break, an in-form and ever-improving Turkey team face the toughest test out there as they take on European champions Spain in Group E.

Turkey began their campaign on Thursday with a battling 3-2 win at Georgia, playing the last 20 minutes with 10 men. This Turkish team are on the rise and full of young talent, with players like Arda Guler and Kenan Yildiz key cogs alongside veteran skipper Hakan Calhanoglu.

A run to the EURO 2024 quarter-finals was followed by promotion to the UEFA Nations League League A, signalling their progress. Remarkably, they have only qualified for the World Cup twice, with their last appearance coming in 2002 - where they secured a third-place finish. The next step in Vincenzo Montella's team's evolution would be a return to the grandest of stages next summer.

However, Spain stand in their way. Led by Luis de la Fuente, they are simply a magnificent outfit, and started their qualification process with an easy 3-0 victory over Bulgaria. Blessed with bona fide superstars, Lamine Yamal is arguably the world's best player, while Pedri is a midfield genius.

They have been the finest international side to watch in Europe in the last few years, but they will be well aware that a trip to Turkey is the toughest match in their group, and could have huge consequences.

In all likelihood, Turkey and Spain will be the two teams at the summit, with the winner of it securing automatic qualification and the runner-up entering a playoff. Therefore, there is a lot riding on this contest. A victory for either side would be a huge step toward clinching top spot.

With the meeting set to take place in Konya, you can guarantee that the atmosphere will be incredible and the stadium will be rocking. It is a must-watch qualifying match for all football fans.

Buffalo Bills vs Baltimore Ravens - 02:20 CET

A rematch of the AFC Divisional Round playoff matchup from last season is going to be, yet again, pure football cinema. The Bills have won three straight home openers while the Ravens have lost two of their last three road openers.

It won't just be a battle of MVP quarterbacks and All-Pro talent on both rosters, but a waiting game to see who makes the first mistake that could drastically change the outcome.

Since both Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson took their starting QB roles in 2018, both have split their career record against one another at 3-3. But it's not just those two. It's James Cook against the Ravens' No. 1 run defence from last season. It's Allen against what was the second-worst secondary in all of football in 2024.

The Ravens improved their secondary, but Allen is undoubtedly going to find a way to make sure his team puts up points on the scoreboard each quarter. As for Baltimore, they are going to need to feed that stacked running back duo of Derrick Henry and Justice Hill to keep that dangerous Buffalo offence off the field and to tire out their defensive front seven.

Shockingly, the Ravens (-1.5) are favourites over the Bills despite the game taking place in Buffalo. But as every good NFL fan, that doesn't mean a thing when it comes to a Ravens-Bills matchup - much less one where both teams got even better than they were last season.

The weather is going to be almost perfect for a Sunday night of hard-hitting football. For the full game preview, read our article here
