With the end of the season fast approaching, it was another thrilling weekend packed full of positive and negative moments, with individual performances set to be forgotten or remembered for a long time. Let's find out our Winners and Losers of the past few days.

Winner: Yehvann Diouf

With the exception of their victory against Marseille, Reims had suffered such a decline that they had sunk to third-last place, with the very strong possibility of having to play in the relegation playoff at the end of the season.

At the weekend, however, three crucial points arrived thanks to a 2-0 win at Lens, with much of the plaudits going to the performance of goalkeeper Yehvann Diouf, who withstood the hosts' 37 shots by making 14 decisive saves.

Loser: Marco Asensio

An excellent March ended with the Player of the Month award, which came mainly thanks to the three goals he scored in the Champions League double-header against Club Brugge, and now the Spaniard has made the headlines for the wrong reasons.

Against the already relegated Southampton, the former Real Madrid man twice stepped up to take a penalty and on both occasions was denied by Aaron Ramsdale.

In Premier League history it had happened just three times before. The previous players: Juan Pablo Angel, curiously also of Aston Villa, Darren Bent of Sunderland and Saido Berahino of West Brom.

Winner: Xherdan Shaqiri

For those who had lost sight of him and thought he had already retired after his American experience in Chicago, the answer is no, Xherdan Shaqiri is still playing and scoring wonderful goals in the Basel shirt.

On Sunday, the former Inter Milan, Bayern Munich and Liverpool player, among many others, scored a brace in the 4-0 away win over Zurich, allowing his team to stay top of the table with a six-point lead over second.

Loser: Kylian Mbappe

What is now being talked about in Spain is whether or not he will be in the Clasico against Barca in two weeks' time.

The Frenchman's foul against Alaves' Blanco, as bad as any in his career, could in fact be severely punished and cost him a significant but fair ban.

For Mbappe it is the fourth red in his career and the first in a Real shirt: one in Ligue 1 against Nimes in 2018 and two against Rennes in 2019, in Coupe de la Ligue and Coupe de France.

Winner: Sassuolo

With five rounds to spare, the Emilian team gained promotion to Serie A not even a year after last year's relegation, their second since 2013.

The team coached by Fabio Grosso dominated the championship, winning 23 out of 33 matches played and losing only four times, thanks to a squad that proved far superior to their opponents.

The Emiliani are currently 16 points ahead of Spezia, who drew on Sunday and allowed the celebrations, but above all, with 75 points and still five games to play, Benevento's all-time record (86) is within reach.

Loser: Manchester United's goalkeepers

Manchester United's goalkeeping situation is becoming increasingly difficult. After Andre Onana's calamitous performance in the Europa League against Lyon, and former Red Devils midfielder Nemanja Matic's criticism, Ruben Amorim decided to pick reserve goalkeeper Altay Bayindir against Newcastle, leaving the Cameroonian at home.

But the result was not much different. The Turkish international conceded four goals and made a kicking error for the last goal, tarnishing his Premier League debut.

It will now be interesting to see who plays in the return leg against Lyon on Thursday, with both keepers low on confidence.
