The young Hamšík was in Copenhagen on a trial and impressed the officials there. "Christian has visited us twice this year and has impressed us not only on the pitch but also off it," Christian Wilkens, the club's head of scouting for young players, says to the club website.
"He brings great dynamics to his game and also has a great mentality and willingness to learn."
Hamsik junior will play for Copenhagen's under-17 team for the time being. "He has undergone a good football education. In Copenhagen, he will, of course, have to adapt to our style of play first. We are very much looking forward to welcoming him here," say the club in an additional comment.
His father, now an assistant in the Slovak national team, went abroad at the age of 17. He embarked on an impressive international career when he signed for Brescia Calcio for €500.00. After three years, his promising performances earned him a move to Napoli for € 5.5 million.
With the Partenopei, he celebrated two Italian Cup triumphs and turned into a club legend.
