Goalkeeper

Marc ter Stegen (Ajax) - 8.2

It was a momentous weekend for Ajax, who cut the gap to leaders Feyenoord to one point after a 1-0 win over AZ - their first over the Alkmaar side since 2021. Marc ter Stegen played a big role in the win, with Ajax barely producing anything offensively and Ter Stegen holding it down at the back with 5 saves, including a crucial stop in the dying seconds.

Defenders

Aske Adelgaard (FC Twente) - 9.1

There we go: the first of six(!) FC Twente players, which isn't crazy after a 9-0 win.

Danish left-back Aske Adelgaard was heavily involved on Sunday, completing the second-most passes (99), creating the second-most chances (3), and winning the second-most possessions (8). Adelgaard was part of a tremendous backline that limited Excelsior to... zero shots across all 90 minutes.

Lutsharel Geertruida (PSV) - 8.6

Stability, experience, and top quality - Lutsharel Geertruida is exactly what PSV wanted for their young defence. In PSV's 7-0 hammering of Willem II, Geertruida completed 97/100 passes, created one chance, and won possession 5 times by winning 2 tackles and 2 interceptions.

Ismael Baouf (SC Cambuur) - 9.4

Cambuur's rise after their slow start has been incredible. The Frisians are unbeaten in seven league games, and Belgian-Moroccan centre-half Ismael Baouf has been instrumental during that run. On Saturday, Baouf scored the opener in the 7th minute, while also winning 10/13 duels, which included 3 interceptions.

Midfielders

Thomas van den Belt (FC Twente) - 9.3

Thomas van den Belt really got stuck in on Sunday. The midfielder engaged in a weekend-high 16 duels and won 8, while also winning possession 11 times, creating 2 chances, registering an assist, and scoring the 4-0 after an earlier goal was cancelled for offside.

Rafik El Arguioui (SC Cambuur) - 9.1

Rafik El Arguioui has been a real difference maker for Cambuur. The midfield maestro scored a wonderful goal against Go Ahead Eagles, whom Cambuur beat 4-0 in a match abandoned after repeated misbehaviour from the away fans. El Arguioui also created 2 chances and completed 3 dribbles.

Sven Mijnans (PSV) - 9.1

Sven Mijnans returned to PSV's starting lineup after serving a one-game suspension and immediately became a difference maker again. The midfielder and occasional striker scored a beauty by smashing a cross into the top corner, while also assisting Ruben van Bommel's 4-0, creating 2 further chances and winning 4 tackles.

Ramiz Zerrouki (FC Twente) - 8.8

As their midfield pivot, Ramiz Zerrouki was worth his weight in gold for FC Twente in their record-shattering win. The Algerian had a game-high 141 touches, completed 118 passes (54 in the final third), won 6 of 10 duels, won 3/3 tackles, created 2 chances, and scored from the penalty spot to make it 8-0.

Forwards

Sondre Orjasaeter (FC Twente) - 9.6

So, the first of three FC Twente forwards to make our Team of the Week's front three.

It was a historic day for Norwegian starlet Sondre Orjasaeter. The winger provided a staggering 5 assists, tying the all-time single-game record set by Coen Moulijn in 1959 and 1960. All five chances he created were scored, three by Wout Weghorst, and as a true team player, he didn't even attempt one of Twente's 28 shots. It was all about setting up others for success.

Wout Weghorst (FC Twente) - 10

A perfect 10, our first since December 6th of last year, when Ayase Ueda thumped PEC Zwolle with four goals. This time, it's Wout Weghorst with perhaps an even better performance. The former Manchester United striker scored a perfect hat-trick in the first half, scoring with his head, left foot, and right foot in the space of 21 minutes.

The former Oranje hero added a fourth from the penalty spot in the second half to cap off an utterly clinical performance, scoring with 4 of his 5 shots. Oh, and he also created 2 chances... That's a worthy Player of the Week, right there.

Daan Rots (FC Twente) - 9.3

Twente players feasted on mightless Excelsior, and Daan Rots didn't shy away from that either. The right-winger scored twice against Excelsior, created two chances, and had the second-most touches in the opposition's box (7), while his 5 passes into the box were the most among any player.
