Danish coach of Polish champions Lech Poznan, Niels Frederiksen was not very happy about being drawn against AGF in the second round of the qualification for the Champions League.

Niels Frederiksen was quite unhappy that his Polish club was paired with AGF in Wednesday's draw for the second round of the Champions League qualification.

Frederiksen would have preferred to face Faroese outsiders Klaksvik, Latvian outfit Riga FC, or Kazakh team Kairat Almaty drawn from the bowl at the UEFA headquarters.

"I think neither AGF nor we are particularly excited about meeting each other. When you look at who we could meet, there were other teams I would have preferred. I consider AGF and the Swedish champions from Mjällby to be the strongest of the unseeded teams", Niels Frederiksen says to bold.dk

"There will be two 50-50 matches to see who will advance to the third qualifying round. Of course, it is an advantage that I have a good knowledge of AGF when we start analyzing them."

AGF probably also has a good knowledge of Lech Poznan. Markus Uglebjerg, who is an assistant coach at the Danish champion club, was an assistant under Frederiksen at the Polish club for half a season in 2025.
